I'm not sure what bleach will do to figures, but if there isn't anything cloth on the figure, perhaps either hit it with some bleach spray, tilex is good for mold, I think. I know you can spray bleach on molded sheet rock in it's early stages, and it'll kill it. I assume the mold was bad, so I'd suggest perhaps giving them a quick soak. Then again, bleach may mess up paint. I'm not sure. But I'd maybe try one. I don't see you killing all the mold without using something with bleach. At minimum, I'd try bleach wipes. Matter of fact, I'll soak some trash pieces in bleach later. I'll post a pic of the result. I'm curious Yeah for sure do this, make sure they're parts with paint on them.

After a 3 hour soak in apple cider vinegar I moved the figures into the tub for a oxy clean soak. Threw in a couple extra figures I felt needed cleaning as well. After this stage then I'll have to hand scrub each figure.

Use borax. Thing about soap and such is it doesn't kill off the mold/mildew, it just masks it. Borax kills it for good. You can find it in your detergent isle.

Wait so storing figures in plastic tubs causes mold?? Do you have a safer alternative? I'm happy to report the figures are in tip top shape, they even feel new again. It took about 6 hours to carefully scrub each one but it was worth the effort. I even rubbed one on my face to make sure lol and I never got an allergic reaction. If you ever get a bad batch of figures my fellow collectors a little elbow grease and a lot of time is the key to victory!

Wait so storing figures in plastic tubs causes mold?? More so how they were stored... was it humid, we're the tubs sealed, etc... just tossing figures into tubs for storage won't cause mold.... it's the upkeep beyond that.

I have a lid on it and my room can get humid at times but not crazy humid. Should I remove the lid?

But you have it in a controlled environment so it should be safe.
