I'm sure there's an actual limit on how much can be put in the signature. I think most message boards have a character or image limit.
There's really no need for a ginormous signature. If you have to scroll several times to get through a signature...and you're on your computer and NOT your phone...then the signature is too big.

WF's TOS, circa 2003:
Signature & Avatar Images
Signature Images should be no larger than 300 Pixels High and/or 300 Pixels Long, and no larger than 250k. If the image is a bit larger either way we will certainly let it slide, but do not go overboard with the size! Large images take long to load, especially for our friends with slower connections, and images too long can distort the screen for users with smaller screen sizes.
We do not permit video .gif files for use in either avatars or signature images because of the slowdown they cause while scrolling through posts and of course for the same reasons listed in the above paragraph. However, we will allow an animated low frame count .gif file. For signature images, the same size requirements listed in the above paragraph apply. For avatar images, please keep .gifs under 15k.

They are not policed at all...which is annoying a  when someone feels the need to put 14 ing images in their sig or use a full size 24x 36 poster of their favorite wrestler in their sig...Like damn, use a little common sense. |

Members are told to fix them when they are noticed. If you see any that are over the limit report it. Am I over the limit? I like to add more but the formats are over my head. |

Just don't put too many, or too large, or too animated and you'll be fine. We try not to police them but if someone complains that someone's sig is slowing things down or stretching their screen too far we'll let you know to fix it. So please make everyone's life easier and just don't overdo it.
