I live in upstate ny. I still remember the day I found my set. the one and only time I ever saw them was at Hills department store. They were on a random shelf not with wrestling figures. I believe they were $5 each. I didnt even know they existed at the time. Such a cool feeling to find a set like that, especially knowing later on how hard a set it was for people to find and what the value holds for certain figures from the set.

Never saw them where I was in Massachusetts, but I could have missed their short availability.

I still remember seeing one of the Smoking Guns while I was on vacation with my parents in Indiana. But they didn't have both, so instead I think I got Giant Gonzalez or Doink. I never saw anyone from that set again.

Hasbros or any other wrestling figures never made it big in the Netherlands. In fact, I only remember series 1 ever being available in the stores over here. That's it.
However, this will raise a lot of eyebrows here (looking back, including mine lol) at one point all of a sudden a Toys R Us (in Eindhoven, PSV stadium (for the Dutch ppl on here)) carried the green cards incl some others like Ric Flair. What's killing me now is that the green cards sold for fl 2,50 (this was the pre Euro time), which probably is around $ 1 (yes, ONE dollar) each. I do remember they had a LOT of 123 Kids and Smoking Gunns.
At that time I could care less about the new generation so I just bought some other figs. If I only knew back then what I know now, lol.

I never saw them in the UK. But my mate had the Smoking Gunns (and painted them), so they were obviously available somewhere here. Toys r Us always gets a mention.

I had a mate who had a super impressive collection about 12 years ago, I didn't even know the green card or some of the dark blue cards existed till he showed me them. He had a few 123 kids moc and said his aunt used to send him them from u.s. I brought a borger loose off him but outside of his bedroom I never ever saw a green card in the UK and we used to go to car boot sales every Sunday

Figures were available as close outs at Ames and Hill department stores on the East Coast; tri-state area had the most of these retail discount stores. You could also order cases direct from Hasbro if you had an account with them, I think it was $2,500 minimum order. I worked at a collectibles store who bought their green card cases direct; the store was located in NJ.

I only ever saw them once - it was a Hill's in Richmond, Virginia, and I got all of them except a 123 Kid, which they didn't have.

For what it's worth, I was never able to find the Nasty Boys around here, and my parents got them for me for Christmas by contacting Hasbro directly. So, apparently, individuals could do that.

Never understood why certain figures were so hard to find. Did Hasbro pack certain waves certain ways to make certain figures hard to find? Like Nasty Boys and even LOD. Only ever spotted each of them one time, yet they felt it necessary to put Rockers and Bushwackers repacked into those cases. Doesn't make any sense.
Also why did there seem to be tons of Scott Steiners warming shelves in my area? Was there more of him in each box than Rick? It's the only thing I can think of. Because I'm sure if you were buying Rick you were buying Scott too.
I'm just curious, is there a list anywhere of how each case pack from each wave was pieced out? Like how many of each figure were in boxes.
