I don't know how I never realized before but Taz is the worst announcer I have ever listened to. I grew up with him as the Smackdown announcer along with Michael Cole and I never saw a problem with him. He always had his catchphrase for Brock Lesnar and I found him somewhat amusing when Raw and Smackdown were competing. However, I have been re-watching old TNA matches and he is just awful. I originally thought it was a bad sign for WWE that everyone including their announcers were jumping ship. Now, I bet they were happy he left. He is simply painful to listen to. He stumbles over his own words, forgets what he is saying, takes long pauses during the same sentence, etc. Has anyone else ever noticed this?

Mauro Ranallo is the worst commentator of all time.
"I'm gonna yell a lot while this match takes place, not really tell the story of the match, just yell out a bunch of moves, and then get the name of the wrestler wrong half way through the match. Then I will yell some more, and not really have any passion while I do it, for I am a poor man's JR."

Nah, Taz can be really good at times. Not great, but good.
I mean, how could you call him the worst when you have Mike Adamle to compare him to?

People say he's good, but I never saw it. I rather have Michael Cole do it to be honest. Worst is an exaggeration. Schiavone? Mark Madden? Mike Adamle? Don West? Tony Schivaone when paired up with Jesse Ventura was great! His later stuff was bad, but then I don't even think he cared anymore to do what he was doing. Dusty was bad, he said a lot of stuff I never understood. Madden was ridiculous, so was Adamle, and Don West at least had passion for what he was calling. He seemed like a legit fan of TNA wrestling. So I will let him slide. |

I liked Taz's commentary style. There are people I'd rate higher but I wouldn't mind having him back on SD doing commentary with Ranallo

Also, Steve McMichael was terrible.
