If I could get basic bodies with elite style legs then I would be good to go.
I have seen some amazingly painted and sculpted basics that I would love to be in the elite line.

I prefer elites, but certain attires that I like are in basic only. If it's a wrestler I collect it kind of leaves me with no choice to buy the basic.

They suck. Their articulation is very subpar and it's below the average collector action figure (Elites, Marvel Legends, DC Multiverse, Star Wars Black Series, etc.)

I don't have a problem with basics. There's even instances in which I find a wrestler's basic to be better than their elite like Tensai, Surfer Sting, Flair, etc.

I buy whatever I feel at the time stuff comes out. I'll usually wait for an elite if I know it's coming out such as Kalisto and Strowman but if I don't know and see they have a basic out definitely I'll pick it up.

When Jakks had the contract i hated when they added the ab crunch. So much I stopped collecting. When Mattel came along I didn't really Mind it as much but still bought all basics and elites. Now I stopped collecting basics and just stick to flashbacks. They are nice though

They're also called basics for a reason. They are not collector figures & the ones you mentioned are all about double the price as basics.

I don't care if it's a basic or an elite. If I like the figure I'll pick it up.

I always just bought figures because I liked the scans or attires. Many instances I can think of where an elite comes out with a bland headscan and then a better basic comes along. Elite 19 Daniel Bryan to Basic 30 Daniel Bryan comes to mind. Leagues apart. I guess I could've headswapped onto an elite, but I liked the attire on that one. I don't play so I also never had issue with articulation. I understand that elites are more like industry standard, but so are their prices. Basics are the best deal in the action figure world at $10.00. The detail amf size are impressive for the price.

If it's a flashback or legends basic I get it. I mostly keep them MOC.

Usually i grab basics that are first time in the line, or basics legends. I will also grab battle packs, especially when there doesn't seem to be hope of an elite version.

I buy any and every basic that I like. And I try to have at least one basic version and one elite version of every character. I'm absolutely loving the legends basics. The recent Summerslam Bulldog is a ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing 10/10 in my book.

I buy basic NXT, (some)legends and divas lines. I like them, they are good for display IMO

Basic's are place holders till if/when an elite comes out. It's a waste of money, and i should be more patient but eh can't take it with you right?

I actually like the articulation of basics. That's about all the movement figures had when I was growing up. I'm not a big articulation guy. However, I have never bought a basic because elites look better to me. And I also like the accessories.

However, I have never bought a basic because elites look better to me. And I also like the accessories. Basics are less prone to have loose or wobbly joints or joints that stick. I've had a lot of that with elites but never with basics. Basics are just sturdier and, as you said, they have a lot more articulation than the figures from when we were kids. I guess it all comes down to expectations.
