So,with the annoying fad of Charity wristbands, i wanna know what your thoughts are on them and if you have any ideas for your own.
Personally,i really can't stand them. It was fine after Lance Armstrong did it,but then when everybody else started copying it and livestrong bracelets started coming in different colours,it became clear that it's just turned into a fashion statement. Hell, even at truck stops on the highways they sell fakes in candy machines.
Your Thoughts?

Totally agree. I especially hated when WWE started coming out with them. Like man, what a slap in the face. It was intended on being a good cause, and it just turned into a money making mockery. Really sad.

I'm tired of seeing them everywhere. They have them for every cause on earth.

I've only ever seen one that actually made sense. A girl I work with lost her mother to breast cancer and wears a breast cancer support wristband.

Well, before you could only buy them from charity organizations for around five bucks. So it was a good thing it was getting so popular because the charities were getting some nice support from them. But then after realizing their popularity many non-charitable organizations begun producing them and put them on sale for much cheaper. This took a lot of money away from charity because now most kids who want them just go and get them for 99 cents at the dollar store. Everybody still seems to have a livestrong one though.

I'd like to get a LiveStrong wristband - but it probably wouldn't fit around my fat wrist.
My mom wanted me to order her one on eBay.

I only wear the Blue Canadian Cancer Society one because I know people in my family who have been affected by Cancer.

If they can get these charties more funding then I'm all for it. The only I wear/wore, was for the MS Society due to my uncle being a card carrying member.

I have been wearing a LIVESTRONG wristband since the initially came out, because I have been following Lance Armstrong's career since before his first Tour victory. Unlike the masses, I didn't jump on the bandwagon after his 3rd, 4th, 5th.... etc... victory.
I loved the idea of the bracelet. Still do.
But even the other charities make a mockery of the bracelet. Charities should distinguish themselves as unique not by the colour of their own rubber bracelet, but by the form that their charity takes. A ribbon, a necklace, a sticker, a hat, it really doesn't matter, but WWE, NIKE or charity alike, they all need to get some originality.
Initially it was great, because 6 year old kids took an interest in supporting a charity. A great lesson learned. Until they started collectiong and trading them like POGS, marbles and hockey cards.
It is time to stop the madness.

But LK, tell me, would you wear one if it was for Diabetes? No,i wouldn't. I've tried one on and really,i don't wanna wear it anyway. I've donated alot of money to Diabetes charities in my life. I don't need a wristband to prove that. If i wanted a wristband, i'd buy a livestrong wristband.
