Rhyno & Bayley def. The Brian Kendrick & Eva Marie when Rhyno pinned Kendrick following a Gore.
Backstage: In the GM’s office, William Regal threatens to suspend Finn Balor & Luke Gallows unless one of them admits to who took out Seth Rollins at Money In The Bank. Balor admits that this was a plan of the Demon all along. William Regal declares that at the first ever NXT Takeover Event, Finn Balor will go one on one with Seth Rollins as a result of Balor’s admission.
NXT Main Event for the NXT Championship: NXT Champion Tyler Breeze def. Kevin Owens (Cashing in his NXT Money In The Bank) when Sami Zayn’s song hit. Tyler scored a win with a Supermodel Kick to retain the title as Owens was distracted by Sami Zayn (who made his entrance after his music hit). Zayn celebrated with the NXT Universe as Sami has officially made his debut. An angered Owens started punching and kicking the turnbuckles to end the show.

The Miz def. Jack Swagger with a Skull Crushing Finale
The Usos def. Primo & Alberto Del Rio when an Uso hit Primo with a Superfly Splash. Del Rio shoved Primo to end the show.

Announcers: Mean Gene Okerlund, Jerry “The King” Lawler, & Booker T
Shane McMahon comes out to the stage as the WWE Universe is excited for Smackdown. Shane reminds the WWE Universe that change is coming to Smackdown for the better. Shane O’ invites Paul Heyman to Smackdown next week as the Extreme Authority will take control of the show. Before leaving, Shane announces that the Battleground Tournament to determine a No. 1 Contender for the WWE Championship continues right now. The New Day comes out. Big E, Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston dance with Shane on the stage as we cut to commercial.
Back from the break, Okerlund (at the announce table) tells us that Big E has returned backstage as his Semi-final match with Rusev is quickly approaching. Woods is accompanying Kofi for this next match. Okerlund also adds that Tyler Breeze will receive an Intercontinetal Championship match at Battleground vs. Dolph Ziggler as a result of defeating Dolph in this ongoing tournament at this past week’s Raw. Finally, the announce team informs us that Chris Jericho will battle Demon Kane in tonight’s Smackdown main event.
Semi-Finals Match in Battleground Tournament: Kofi Kingston def. NXT Champion Tyler Breeze with Trouble in Paradise to advance to the finals
Golden Truth def. Erick Rowan & Bray Wyatt when Goldust pinned Rowan after a Final Cut. The Dudleyz provided commentary at ringside. After the match, R-Truth & Goldust mocked the Dudley Boyz and the two teams began to brawl at ringside.
Backstage: Rosa Mendes confronts Shane McMahon and says that Golden Truth pulled off an impressive win tonight. Shane asks Rosa if she believes Golden Truth deserves a tag title match and Rosa agreed. Shane makes the match official for Battleground. Suddenly, Randy Orton cheap shots Shane from behind. The Viper is then chased down by security, but Orton quickly ran out of the building.
Semi-Finals Match in Battleground Tournament: Rusev (w/ Lana) def. Big E (w/ The New Day) with The Accolade submission to advance to the Finals
Paige def. Charlotte with a RamPaige. Paige got on the mic afterwards and challenged NXT Diva Eva Marie to a one-on-one match at Battleground in a match that never took place at Money In The Bank.
Chris Jericho came out for the main event. Jericho explained how he has become violently angry with New Day’s immature behavior. Y2J claimed that a man known as Big E should never have eliminated him from a WWE Title shot opportunity in the Battleground Tournament. Jericho challenges New Day to a tag match at Battleground and adds that he will find a partner. Chris Jericho def. Demon Kane with a Code Breaker to end Smackdown.
