Triple h rock saga....99/2000 year

I loved their 1999/2000 feud. We were so used to HHH being the face and The Rock the heel so it was nice to see them in reversed roles and it was far better aswell. 

The Triple H/Rock feud over all goes right back to Survivor Series 96 when Rock debuted against Hunter's team.

Then Rocky beat Hunter on Raw in February 97 for the IC Title, and faced him again at the February In Your House PPV event.

Fast forward to 1998, The Rock and the Nation started to feud with Triple H and DX.

In June, Rock beat Triple H to advance into the semi finals of the KOTR tournament.

July had their big 30 minute classic for the IC Title.

August had SummerSlam ladder match.

Plus all the Raw shows in between where DX vs. the Nation took place.

November at Survivor Series was supposed to be The Rock vs. Triple H, but Triple H was injured.

The Raw the night after the Royal Rumble in the "I Quit Match" where Triple H said those words so Chyna wouldn't get beat up. But she turned on DX that night anyhow.

The May Over The Edge and July Fully Loaded PPVs had The Rock vs. Triple H.

The Unforgiven PPV in September of 1999, plus Survivor Series 1999.

Wrestlemania 2000, Backlash 2000, Judgment Day 2000, King of the Ring 2000, SummerSlam 2000, Armageddon 2000.

Those guys did a lot of business in like a three to four year span.

I think the last time they faced each other was on a Raw before SummerSlam 2002. The Rock vs. Triple H, because HBK and Brock Lesnar both got involved.

loved their feud. ladder match, cage match on raw, shawn michaels guest ref on smackdown, 2/3 falls, all great matches.

when triple h cost the rock his rematch against austin the night after wm17, i thought the rock FOR SURE was going to return and take it to austin/hhh full throttle...and he initially DID address them...before being shuffled into a summerslam program with booker t. the invasion was just a mess.

It got boring after a while. The Rock vs. Triple H at Backlash should've been the main event at Mania that year instead, then they should've had one more rematch at Backlash and had that be the end of it. There was such a long buildup to The Rock finally winning the title as a face that when he finally did and lost it a month later, it was such a letdown. And then the way he won it back again at KOTR in the tag match versus Triple H and the McMahons was even weaker. That whole feud just seemed to drag on a little too long for me. By the time SummerSlam 2000 came, the entire story of the main event was basically Triple H vs. Kurt Angle with The Rock and the WWF Title being secondary.
