Here's a question: did anyone use the curb-stomp as a wrestling move before Seth? Besides movies and such, that is.

I thought what I said was pretty self-explanatory. I'm not sure where I lost you. Here...I'll try again. Pretty much every move is lifted from someone else. Is that better? you didn't lose me. what you said was boring. i can tell you're that boring guy who never gets invited out because he ruins everyones fun with his boringness. i DONT CARE that every move was copied, thats OBVIOUS... this thread is a fun thread giving good examples where they've seen the same move used by different wrestlers... if you don't have a good example, then go and take you're boringness somewhere else Well since this is supposed to be a fun thread we went from billy gunn doing the fame asser to Kelly Kellys K2!!!! COME ONNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

Jake invented the DDT.
Then everyone stole it from him.
Yet no one can deliver one like the Snake.

thats true, i liked Ravens tho Yeah I did too. I'm glad you brought that up, I forgot about Raven Gangrel did a sweet one too. The story I've always heard about Jake inventing the DDT is he was in a tag match, when he had his opponent in a front face lock while he walked backwards to his corner for a tag. As he was walking he tripped and fell. His opponent sold it like a move and the crowd popped. Another story that I've always found funny was that back when Muhammad Hassan was around people in the back told him to confront Eddie for using the Camel Clutch while he was using it as his finisher. So he did, not knowing that Eddie's father invented the move and Eddie went off on him.

There was another story where he was supposed to wrestle I think Slaughter and some guys advised him not to sell for Slaughter to get his heel character over. Then after the match everyone said he disrespected Slaughter by not selling. The guy says he quit wrestling because of the backstage stuff in WWE.

And you're right. I was 14-15 around the time he was wrestling and being an American I thought it was pretty unfair how he was portrayed. After 9/11, it was a bad idea for anything close to a "terrorist" character. He was a talented guy though. He could've gotten another character over for sure, and steered clear of the nonsense that ensued

Then they went down the wrong path with it. His gimmick was originally that he was NOT a terrorist but he was mad because people treated him like one even though he was just like everyone else. Then somewhere along the way they just decided to make him a terrorist. And those guys in the ski masks attacking Taker with piano wire definitely didn't help.

I thought the Arab American gimmick was amazing. He may have been Italian, but it was one time where WWE were able to make a true sociopolitical statement, as Arab Americans - and anyone of Middle Eastern decent for that matter - had a legitimate beef. They were treated with disdain by the majority of uninformed Americans. The first vignettes were perfect, explaining his position....then every week it got darker, finally culminating in his frustration at not being accepted. I LOVED the gimmick all the way to the end. I was even into the terrorist stuff at the very end because it was just provocative enough (without going into hand birth or necrophilia territory). They say Jake had the worst luck, eh eh. Hassan deserved way better. The locker room can be a snake pit, no doubt about it.
Anyway, back on topic, Crossrhodes was first done by Test, Test Drive. Always liked the move, but Cody really perfected it. I think that's why Test eventually got the Big Boot instead.

That's a good one! I remember he did pump handle powerslam then an elbow drop and later the big boot but can't remember him doing the cross rhodes! I used to love test haha I always wished he replaced Austin at survivor series than fought triple h at Armageddon

I thought there was a twist somewhere. Then the hostage thing, yes. WWE just really mishandled that there

I always preferred his use of the gutwrench powerbomb as his finisher.

Jericho was using the skull crushing finale in 2001/2002 before Miz Randy Orton was using MVP's playmaker in 2002 Maven started using the backstabber before Carlito/Primo/Epico Mike Knox was using a version of Sister Abigail in 2008/2009 before Bray Wyatt Shelton Benjamin/R-Truth/MVP all used a version of Paydirt as their finisher at one point Just a few off the top of my head Didn't one of the Too Cool guys use something similar to the Skull Crushing Finale?

Didn't Andre use it once in the AWA? You might be getting confused with the Pedigree? Dynamite invented the Tombstone and the Pedigree.
