First of all, no it wasn't - it was referred to as the "WWE World Championship" on SmackDown. So, within the span of a month, they've gone through three names for the championship without any explanation as to why. That's...not normal. Second of all, if it doesn't matter to you, why reply?

Naming them Smackdown and Raw titles is a bad idea What happens if the titles are swapped during the draft It could lead to championships becoming vacated if they have the belts named after each brand. It could make for some creative matches over the next couple of years.

I hate that they renamed the belt again.

Naming them Smackdown and Raw titles is a bad idea What happens if the titles are swapped during the draft They'd still be called either the RAW or SD championship. Whatever show the title is on its what it'll be called

Sounds like a total mess I think you're putting too much thought into it. Besides, I seriously doubt the titles will be traded between shows anytime soon. And I totally agree that renaming the belts the raw and sd title isn't a good idea. Just sayin'

The new title name is stupid. I have a simple idea.
Raw Heavyweight champion
And
Smackdown Heavyweight champion
Problem solved, your welcome.

Is it really that big of a deal? There are no weight limits for the title anyway so calling it a Heavyweight titles pretty stupid anyway.

I am going to have a hard time getting used to wrestlers saying "I am the Universal Champion!'
It sounds quite lame. I assume it will be considered a World Championship, historically. Say if Finn wins the belt at Summerslam he will have a world title to his name.
"I'M THE UNIVERSAL CHAMPION! I AM CHAMPION OF THE UNIVERSE! RESPECT ME!"
Just sounds mega lame.

I get why they didn't want to bring back the WHC. They went on and on about how the unification match was huge and would change the course of blah blah blah.
But universal champion isn't a good name, and wwe world champion isn't necessary. Just call it the wwe championship.
