I really, really, loved the Finn and Club vignettes though. I'd like to see more of that kind of stuff. I think it made Finn look badass and really let Doc and Machine Gun show off their actual personalities.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Rollins cutting a lengthy promo after coming off a lengthy face-to-face the week before. He drove it home at the end, the line was great, but he's not being treated like a heel and there was really no purpose other than to get him out there. Do a squash match and let him cut the last minute or so of that promo afterwards and it gets over better imo. It is what it is, I guess. I know Raw has 3 hours to fill.
Rest of the show largely sucked, but those were diamond segments imo. I guess the Brock and Orton stuff was solid too. No real complaint with that. A great work around to keep them away from live action and keep making it feel special.

"I'm gonna bury Brock and what are you gonna do? Give the title to Dolph?"

I understand that they want to make Seth/Rollins feel special, but they've only wrestled on one RAW each since the brand split (same with Roman, actually). There's no reason to be repeating matches like Cesaro/Sheamus, or double booking Cesaro, when your main eventers aren't doing anything. I, for the life of me, can't understand why they're not booking Finn, when the non-NXT audience needs more of a reason to root for him other than being an amalgam of a demon king and a hero from Adventure Time (or something else, I'm just gonna pretend it's an AT reference).

Yup, have to agree this week's RAW sucked. No excuse for not booking Balor in a match this week, it's obvious the casual fan doesn't know who he is or what he can do. That's what I don't understand. At least half of the crowd has never seen Balor in a match before two weeks ago. So you'd think WWE would want to get him more exposure so the general fan base can become more familiar with Balor. I would even have been content had Balor been Neville's mystery partner. Would have been better than nothing IMO.

I would even have been content had Balor been Neville's mystery partner. Would have been better than nothing IMO. I was positive that Balor was going to wrestle in the main event and then they brought Rusev back out. I was like wtf is going on right now. Let him go 5-6 minutes with someone like Curtis Axel and then do a 1000 yard stare towards the camera to close the show. Just keep making him look like a serial killer Irish warrior who is about to unleash some kind of super power we don't even know about. The vignette was so good though. So maybe they just don't want to over expose him but I agree that the casual audience has no idea who he is or why they should like him, which was largely my complaint about last week as well. That's why Rollins is still getting plenty of cheers too because everything he is saying is true. I can't give WWE enough credit for ironing out the Demon character though. They are giving it purpose. I know NMS always complained about not understanding why Balor did the Demon character and what made it different other than he was just wearing paint. Well WWE is going out of their way to explain that he's harnessing a greater power and it gives him fuel in big moments (battles). I'm starting to really believe that Balor is winning the title. He's going to be the guy. They can't do all of this build towards him becoming the Demon and then have him lose, at least I don't think. I think Balor will be our first Universal Champion. I love Balor but I'm certainly conflicted. I won't be complaining either way. Rollins or Balor as champion is like asking me if I want to eat cookie dough or pizza after I have sex with Margot Robbie. First world problems.

You know what, as someone who knows little about Balor other than a couple of NXT matches I saw, that promo did a LOT more for me than a match would have. It really helped explain who he his, the meaning behind his character. That meant a lot for someone like me who was EH on him for a while now.

So random but why did Neville NOT start the tag match? Whoever booked that match needs to be schooled on wrestling 101. They book this guy like such a one trick pony fool

I really don't get why there has to be some sort of beef between the brands.

I dug the explanation and the ironing out of the "Demon" idea. All that's left is for him to change how he wrestles while in the paint and it'll be perfect.

Raw dropped to a 2.05 rating (down from 2.3 last week.) Dangerously close to falling under 2.0 again.
In comparison, Raw during week 1 of the 2012 Olympics drew a 3.08, which was seen as a disappointment. The week prior drew a 3.8, but, it was an outlier, because it happened to be Raw 1000, so, the drop isn't a fair comparison.

They really jumped the gun. And now I hear people saying he may not return to wwe at all, but hey at least we have jinder mahal. I'm so glad they released Damien Sandow to make room for Jinder Mahal. ๐

Unfortunately, he probably would have been drafted to Raw and they would have kept that stupid Stardust gimmick on him. Maybe he's better off.

That Bryan and Foley segment sure was pointless.
