JokerFC can you explain to me why you're so against Rey or Ren being a Skywalker? How is that lazy? We have 6 movies all about Skywalkers. Vader is special, he was born from the Force. By default his children are special because their dad was conceived from the Force. So it would only make sense that his grandchild(ren) are also special, because Vader. Why, after 6 movies of Skywalker coming of age tales, would we get a random girl becomes a Jedi, featuring the old Skywalkers, story? Surely Rey is Han and Leia's daughter, and surely she's going to be the one who takes down the Empire for that very reason. I'm actively rooting for that story, and I hope Luke saves Finn in the Kylo fight and then trains Rey to become a Jedi. I actually would like to think that other Jedi are out there and that Luke has trained others too, at least a handful, since ROTJ. I just don't understand the want to not see Skywalkers here when the entire universe is based on their story and JJ has already said the Skywalker saga will continue. To each their own but I think the entire premise of the new trilogy should be finishing the story they started.

Rey not so much(I could accept her being Luke's daughter maybe) but I do not want to see Ren being part of the Skywalker clan. Sorry if that irritates you or if your rooting for that story but I am not. As you said-to each their own. It wont ruin the movie for me but at this point Its not what I want to see.

I definitely agree with not wanting to see Kylo Ren as a Skywaker. I really think, and hope that Rey will be but Ren shouldn't be. Especially considering Ren's unconventional "forced" lightsaber and the fact it's been said that he's not a sith, I'm hoping for something a bit different for him.

It doesn't irritate me at all. I just think it's impossible not to assume Rey is a Skywalker/Solo at this point. Kylo I can see going either way. If they do the twins story then I can see how it's kind of cheesy to do another set of twins. I guess it's all relative to how they attach Kylo to Vader and the Dark Side. You just seem adamant about certain plot details not happening and I was curious why. I didn't know if that was from stuff you didn't like from the EU or you just have another direction you like better. Genuine curiosity is all on my part.

I feel it would be repetitive and lazy as I said above for Ren to be a Skywalker......do something different. But since we know zero about the storyline? its all scuttlebutt. I can see Rey being a daughter of Luke's(maybe he was injured during that big battle above jakku met a bird etc etc etc) but Ren being related to either Luke or Leia will disappoint me. But I'm sure I will get over it because I'm 100% sure the movie will be fantastic. IMO, as far as the EU goes? The best work there by far was fleshing out the Clone Wars and Original Trilogy. Republic, Empire & Rebellion are 3 of the best comic series ever IMHO. The KOTOR stuff was awesome as well actually. but most of the post ROTJ stuff was tripe. Heir To The Empire & Crimson Empire were great.......and there were other flashes of brilliance but most of it was just bleh.

The Star Wars story is a story of the Skywalker family.
I don't see that changing, honestly.

The Star Wars story is a story of the Skywalker family. I don't see that changing, honestly. Nobody said it shouldn't or wont be..... That doesn't mean Ren HAS to be a Skywalker..... Now I'm left wondering if Rey is an "estranged" Solo. Han & Leias daughter who fell out with them and left home to follow some quest or another. It would explain why she is so damn upset about a fallen Chewbacca(whether he be dead or injured)....because yknow she was raised with him.... As opposed to some guy she just met earlier in the movie. Oh man......Im gonna have a knot in stomach about Chewie from now til December the 16th at midnight.....

I'm still pretty sold that Rey and Ren are movie versions of the Solo twins. I feel like that would be a reason why Rey doesn't know who her parents are, because Han and Leia had to hide her after Ren turned to the Dark side. I hope that she's NOT Luke's daughter though. Not a fan of that idea.. Solo twins or Solo child, I like that idea.

I'm not a big fan of the idea of Luke having any kids at all. After ANH, when he really grew up, he didn't seem to show any interest in romance, and especially after ROTJ I just don't see where that fits with his character. They'd have to cover a lot of expository ground with that.

My thing is, is that I watched every trailer and TV spot for Jurassic World this past summer.. To the point where I was able to piece together the movie and by opening night I didn't have as memorable of an experience as I had hoped and hyped it up to be.
From that point on I vowed to never obsess over movie trailers. No matter what company is pumping them out, I'm not going to risk ruining my theater experience anymore.
I saw 2 teasers and a trailer for Star Wars. I'm sold.

However with that said, it's too hard for me to stay away from watching these trailers. The international trailer looked amazing! So much more dialogue plus that Chewwie part towards the end was pretty cool. I won't speculate too much though. Oh and seeing some more of Finn/Rey/BB-8 together was nice. As if I didn't already have so much faith in JJ Abrams to do this justice, this cast has blown me away so far, everything looks perfect.

Daisey Ridley is growing on me.. As far as her looks go anyways.
She definitely reminds me of Luke in the first movie. Young, innocent, grounded worker.. She's kinda got the "every man" quality for females.

Think I might be done with footage until I'm sitting in the theatre. Don't want to spoil much.

I watched the international trailer 3 times today.......that's 5 in total!! I have to say knowing stuff doesn't bother me at all.
Its Star Wars- NOTHING will ruin it for me. Even if the entire plot was spelled out for me after it debuts in France on the Monday? *It wouldn't deter me!!
