I'm a prequel fan.
As a matter of fact, I believe Revenge of the Sith is the 3rd best Star Wars film behind A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back..

ROTS as you rightly say is VERY enjoyable to me.......I enjoy parts of the other too a LOT as well. Bottom line is I find them all very watchable.

I love the prequels as well. My son who is 8 actually prefers them! I think though that is because when I introduced Star Wars to him, we watched them in 1 to 6 order. From a kids point of view it must be hard going from Episode 3 with the epic lightsaber battles between Obi-Wan and General Grievous (my sons favourite Star Wars character by the way) and Obi-Wan vs Anakin to the Obi-Wan vs Darth Vader battle in Episode IV. Maybe as he gets older he will prefer the classic trilogy, but he and another whole generation of kids are growing up with a new series of movies all of their own.
By the way my order would be
Empire Strikes Back A New Hope Revenge Of The Sith Return Of The Jedi The Force Awakens The Phantom Meanace Attack Of The Clones

ESB ROTJ ANH TFA AOTC ROTS TPM
I think all 3 of the prequels are emphatically inferior to 4-7. If I never had to watch any of them ever again I would be completely fine with it. There are parts of a good story buried throughout those 3 films but not a single one of them stands on its own merit. I watched all 3 of them leading up to TFA and I'll never do that again. When my son gets old enough, he will watch 4, 5 and 6 as his first entry into Star Wars, like his father before him.

ESB TFA/ROTJ ANH ROTS
TPM
AOTC
I really don't like AOTC and TPM. The prequels came out when I was a kid, but I didn't find any interest in AOTC. TPM brought annoyance from Jar Jar, but I was always interested in Darth Maul. AOTC was just ruined from the Padme and Anakin scenes, I just hated it. ROTS was good for the most part. One thing I will say: Palpatine was easily the highlight of the Prequels, and stands as my favorite Star Wars character.

Grievous is my favourite too. How can you not love someone who can wield four lightsabers?

Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul is the greatest lightsaber battle and I will choke a mf who disagrees.

For me it goes like this:
A New Hope Empire Strikes Back The Force Awakens Revenge of the Sith The Phantom Menace Return of the Jedi Attack of the Clones
I really liked all of them though. The prequels were the first SW films of my generation so it's hard for me to not like them but they do have their flaws. People seem to overlook the fact that they SHOULD look a lot different then the world of 4-7. After all they do take place before craphits the fan lol.

Avoided 'em like the plague. Hell of a gap then between films for me...I saw ROTJ in '89 when I was 7...Christ, that's 27 years. 😳 I initially disliked the prequels but you are missing out by not watching them. The Clone Wars television show made the prequels worth watching. After seeing all 6 seasons of the show, it actually made me enjoy the prequels. If I were you, I'd watch the prequels and the clone wars. In chronological order, so it goes Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, the Clone Wars, Revenge of the Sith. Do yourself a favour. You won't regret it. The clone wars is just as good as the original trilogy IMO, and the clone wars makes the prequel films good. It really does. I respect the hell out of you, and appreciate very much that you took the time to quote me with your views. This isn't sarcasm, by the way. I'm too old, too far gone, disillusioned and too stuck in my ways to bother with them. I concede that line of thinking will most definitely come across as 'Reager's missing out' and that's fine with me. I enjoyed 'The Force Awakens' for what it was. The one thing I take away from Star Wars more than anything else is the creativity needed to flesh out a universe.

Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul is the greatest lightsaber battle and I will choke a mf who disagrees. I wholeheartedly agree. But which Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul duel are you referring to? Their initial duel in TPM? Or their duel again in the Clone Wars? The duel in TPM is superior in the flashiness and the fighting skills, but their duel in the Clone Wars is very emotional. Also, the next best duel after the TPM duel between Obi/Maul is Darth Maul and Savage Opress vs Palpatine from TCW. TPM. It's the best 2'ish minutes of any Star Wars film.

The one thing I take away from Star Wars more than anything else is the creativity needed to flesh out a universe. It's funny. I am 41, and I despise the prequels. Yet here I am watching the Clone Wars, and the show is REALLY good. Season 1 is a bit rough but season 2 kicks off and it really is an incredible show that his somewhat softened my stance on all things prequels. I am on season 5 now, and as someone with the same opinions as you, can testify that the Clone Wars is excellent viewing and way better than the prequel movies. The only reason I started watching them is because I wanted to watch Star Wars Rebels because Grand Admiral Thrawn is going to be in it, and he is one of my favorite Star Wars characters of all-time. So I wanted to know the history before doing so. I have been completely surprised by how good Clone Wars is as a whole.

I'm old at heart I guess.

What did y'all think of the first episode of season 3 of Rebels? I thought it was pretty great. I haven't watched it yet. I just finished Clone Wars so I need to watch season 1 and 2 first.
