I honestly don't think the teaser was anything more than pieces of the first 10-15 minutes of the film. It's their Dagobah sequence. Daisy alluded to it being a "never meet your heroes" type of deal between Luke and Rey. So Luke has seemingly decided the world is better off without the Jedi and Sith altogether. Grey Jedi are practical. It's like people who are middle of the road politically. It makes sense not to be too crazy in one direction or the other. Kanan and Ezra have been Grey Jedi inside this universe for the last 3 years. Luke training Rey to be something different, something better, is the only way to end the war. Rian Johnson is 100% going to explore the psychological side of the Force. What is right and wrong, and this idea of perception telling two narratives. George intentionally painted the Jedi as white knights and we've seen through the eyes of Qui-Gon, and eventually Vader, how that wasn't exactly the case. Batman always struggles with the idea that he created the Joker. That he drove criminals to take the next step. Maybe Luke feels the Jedi are responsible for the Sith, as we've seen plenty of Jedi become power hungry and turn to the Dark Side. So if you have no Jedi, you have no way for them to turn to the Dark Side. I think this movie is going to be great. I look for it to be extremely heavy in dark undertones. We're going to see Rey with the weight of the Galaxy on her shoulders and potentially Luke cheering on the fall of the Force. I'm happy we have a guy like Johnson who will look to advance the mythology. JJ didn't really do any of that, nor was it his job. TFA was a vehicle to reaffirm that Star Wars can still be great. Now it's time to give us something special that's not the same as what we've seen before. Very well said!!

Amazing stuff already; they didn't show me enough that I felt I can judge whether or not it's worth seeing it - I'm sold! Loved TFA and R1 and am looking very much forward to this, more than I already was!

Am I the only one who hated rogue one? I didn't hate Rogue One but I wasn't crazy about it.. It had 2 of the worst leads I've ever seen in a Star Wars movie (yes I did take it there). And I truly believe that if it wasn't for the 3rd act (which is some of the coolest and most beautiful scenes in the entire franchise) the movie would have been viewed differently by many.. But because my heart is soft for Star Wars, I'm not going to hold any grudge against it.. But I'm not going to pretend it didn't have many issues. Also I wanted to say that as far as this new trailer goes for The Last Jedi, I didn't enjoy it very much and I finally figured out exactly why that is.. I was kinda bummed I didn't have that THRILL and adrenaline I had after TFA trailer. I want everyone to think back to the first trailer for The Force Awakens.. The Last Jedi didn't present itself as being its own entry in the franchise it literally just mirrored TFA trailer.. Beginning jump scare with main character, quotes from the original trilogy, still shots, cut to cool scenes/explosions, and then it ends with an original trilogy main character (Luke Skywalker) saying something that is relevant to the title of the film which is then revealed to everyone. We have all seen this trailer once before back in 2014.

We have all seen this trailer once before back in 2014. I was insanely bored throughout rogue one, and felt nothing towards the characters. The only parts I enjoyed wete the small cameos. I loved Vader murdering people. I just couldn't enjoy the actual movie. I very much agree about the last Jedi trailer too. I will see the movie because I see everything star wars, but that may change if it is as hard to sit through as rogue one.

Am I the only one who hated rogue one? Go back a few pages bro. You're not alone. You're close to alone, but not quite haha Anyways I think The Last Jedi looks awesome. Seems like we will be getting something NEW and that's all that can be asked for. I think this looks more like Star Wars and less like a commercial for 'the Star Wars brand' than either of the last two movies did, so I'm excited. Also I love the faraway training shot of Rey among other things.

Yeah I wasn't thrilled by the teaser. I mean I'm happy we got it and I'm ready for December but it was definitely underwhelming as far as teaser's usually go.. I honestly just want more Luke Skywalker.. Show us Luke Skywalker being the most powerful Jedi in the entire galaxy.. Show us green saber and him fighting with it. I've wanted Luke ever since this Star Wars campaign started back in 2014.. And hopefully they deliver this time. Because even though I loved The Force Awakens, nothing was more disappointing than him showing up in the very last scene of the entire movie. I feel your excitement here, but there's no way we're going to see a green lightsaber ignited outside of the actual movie until either a few days before or a few days after. That'd be like when the Yoda scene from Attack of the Clones leaked ahead of time. That scene and the image of Yoda fighting is iconic at this point when it comes to Star Wars and is used pretty regularly now. It'll be the same thing here. We're all waiting for this Luke after 30-some years, especially when we were expecting it in the last movie. But that's definitely not a giveaway. If I were a director I'd be super tight about that until the day of. That having been said when it does finally come out I'd bet we see it all the time from then on. Doesn't everyone think this teaser is better than TFA? I can't help but feel like this is exactly the type of teaser we could have asked for. Revealed a little bit without revealing too much, showed that the gloves are off, we don't know what's coming, etc. It wasn't just a 'HEY, WE'VE GOT ALL YOUR OLD FAVORITES ON SCREEN HERE! HERE'S THE FALCON! AND HAN, AND CHEWIE!' I was always bothered by that as for many of us that stuff really never left. Like, of course Han and Chewie and the Falcon will be in it. Even for new fans, that stuff is just easy.

Now that I have had some time to process Rogue One, I genuinely think it may be my favorite Star Wars movie.

You know what that trailer has me doing? This: That shot of Vader's broken and twisted helmet tho...man that was a truly stunning image. Now that I have had some time to process Rogue One, I genuinely think it may be my favorite Star Wars movie. It's most certainly up there, and proof positive to me that a successful movie can be borne out of a plot hole. No glaring complaints from me.

First, for the above quote, really quite sure that was Kylo's helmet but sure. But yeah, Rogue One was a good kinda movie because I felt like anyone could die at any time. It wasn't like it'll be when I watch The Last Jedi, I know Rey isn't just gonna get cut into pieces halfway through the movie.

No worries, I watched it again and yeah, it looks more like Kylo Ren's helmet now - my bad.

I thought that was the Ren helmet. Oh. Was it? My bad if so, but still - pretty awesome. Almost positive it is. I remembered the reports that Kylo gets a slightly different appearance in this movie, so then it made sense that the old helmet was destroyed.
