Just wondering if anyone caught the world jr's game last night. I caught it at a friends New Years party and watched it with a buddy. It was a great game and well called, the ref's didn't call everything outside of Mexico like last game. For those who didn't watch it, we had an early lead 2-0 then the US fought back and tied it at 2. With under a minute to go they pulled their goalie because they needed a win to clinch first while we only needed a tie. F Steve Downie and Captain Kyle Chipchura broke out on a 2-1 and Downie unselfishly passed the puck up for Chippy to take the empty netter. Just as cheers filled the arena, USA Defensemen Jack Johnson landed a blantent and uncalled for flying elbow to the jaw of Downie. He was on the ice for several minutes before getting to his feet and skating off. Johnson was booted from the game but it is still not for sure whether or not he'll get a suspension. (HE WILL.) And for anyone who watched further, It was sort of salt in the wound and unsportsman like as JACK JOHNSON was awarded player of the game for the US. Completely ridiculous. Just wanted to know you're thoughts on all of this.

I watched it too. It seemed like Downie either got a concussion, or something along the lines of one. He was really out of it. Overall I don't think Canada played that good, they didn't take the body for most of the game and they seemed to be too afraid to be "creative." They were just lucky that the US had to go for the win, so they pulled there goalie.
As far as J. Johnson goes...I hope he either gets kicked out of the tourny, or he his able to play against Canada 1 more time.
