Since Goldberg was in the company for the better part of a year from 2003-04 how would you have booked Goldberg's run in WWE during the Ruthless Aggression Era?
Personally speaking I would not have had Goldberg been on a brand but more or less he would be a free agent with the freedom to compete on both shows RAW and Smackdown during the Ruthless Aggression Era but have him be the only superstar that shows up on both brands RAW and Smackdown basically he would be like how Brock is now but with a few differences
I would have debuted Goldberg as a heel but have him transition into a bad ass babyface or even have him as a badass tweener who goes undefeated and work him on limited dates but as for the superstars that he would encounter on his run would be:
1- The Rock (Backlash 2003) (Win) (RAW superstar) 2- Chris Jericho (Bad Blood 2003) (Win) (RAW superstar) 3- Shawn Michaels (SummerSlam 2003) (Win) (RAW superstar) 4- Brock Lesnar (Survivor Series 2003) (Win) (SD superstar) (but this wouldn't be for any titles but basically a battle of 2 behemoths going at it) 5- Kurt Angle (Royal Rumble 2004) (Win) (SD superstar) 6- The Undertaker (Dead Man return gimmick w/Paul Bearer in tow) as final opponent (WrestleMania 20) (Streak vs Streak) (Loss for Goldberg since he would be on his way out of the company) (SD superstar)

I would have not booked Goldberg against Rock as his first feud. That didn't help Goldberg and Rock was way too cartoony in his selling during this period.
- Backlash 2003 Goldberg debut's and he as not seen before the PPV. his first oppenent is Christian with Goldberg ending this at around 4 minutes. Win
- Bad Blood 2003 Goldberg faces off with Chris Jericho just like it really happened. Win
- Summerslam 2003 Golberg wins the World Title in the elimination chamber match, things go down just like they did with the ending hist changed to him wining.
- Unforgiven 2003 Goldberg defats Triple h in a rematch ending the feud
- Survivor Series 2003 Goldberg sucessfully defends the title against the recently unmasked deranged Kane.
- Armageddon 2003 Goldberg successfully defends the title against Shawn Michaels
- Royal Rumble Goldberg loses the title in a 3 way match that includes HBK and Triple h. new champion being triple h pining shawn while Goldberg was being occupied by Brock.
- Wrestlemania 20 Goldberg and Lesnar face off just like they did, as that was a surreal match to see and the crowd reaction was one of the first hostile crowds that loud at major show.
Goldberg leaves www undefeated this way as well

I would have him win that elimination chamber since he was at his hottest there. He never quite recovered from that loss.

The only thing I would have changed really was the SummerSlam loss.
Goldberg should have steamrolled through everyone and won that night. He should have held the World Title until the Royal Rumble, where he lost it back to Triple H after a 4 on 1 beat down by Evolution, plus an F5 from Brock Lesnar.
That would set up Goldberg vs. Lesnar then at Wrestlemania XX.

I would of kept his booking the same but I would of had him win the World Title At SummmerSlam. When he lost that match it really hurt him and the momentum he was building to that point.

I would have had him destroy each member of Evolution in the run up to facing Triple H at the July PPV, get screwed out of winning and then have him dominate and win the Elimination Chamber at SummerSlam.
Did they ever give a reason as to why he did not win the title at SummerSlam? After that it was kind of anticlimactic him winning it the next month.

Out of interest was it known at the time that Goldberg was only planning on staying for 1 year?
If so they should've made the most of him and gave him an undefeated streak which may have tempted him to stay longer.

I completely understand why my idea would never have happened, but I would have loved to have seen this as the Main Event of WrestleMania XX.
Undisputed WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title Unification match WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar vs. World Heavyweight Champion, Goldberg

I would have booked him not to sign with WWE and go away. I wouldn't go that far. But I would probably give him an undefeated streak where he would squash local jobbers like they did with RyBack at first and them feed him bigger talent.

I know everyone loves to blame WWE for Goldberg's mediocre run. But I think some of the blame falls on Goldberg also. He always bought into his gimmick a tad too much. He thought he was the baddest mofo on the planet. And the fact he only signed a one year deal was also an issue. There was no way WWE was gonna let Goldberg run rough shot over the entire roster just to leave a year later.
Personally, I liked the fact he didn't go undefeated in WWE. It kept his matches more entertaining. Because while he was undefeated in wCw I lost interest in him. It wasn't till his short lived heel turn I became invested in him again.
If I was gonna do anything different, I would have kept the title on him till WM. Then I'd have had him drop the belt to Chris Benoit. Tapped out in the middle of the ring. It would have been a huge upset and help solidify Benoit as a legit main eventer.

HHH was the guy that he needed to beat.....beating HBK in the same match was huge for him too. I also wouldn't have wanted him to be undefeated in WWE BUT he should have won that Elimination chamber. I would also have booked Jericho to act like a heel against Goldberg. Jericho can protest all he wants.....but he was grinding an axe with Goldberg during their feud.

I only picked Benoit over Triple H because of how much people complain that Triple H defeated Goldberg. And IMO Goldberg should have lost clean in his last match. Problem is, Triple H wasn't beating anyone clean at that time. So I was trying to think over someone whom the victory would have elevated.

There is no way Vince would have a WCW guy run roughshod over his WWE roster when he was leaving in a year. That would make the WWE roster look weak if he had Goldberg come in undefeated and then leave.
