Alistair was already as stiff as a board. Crazy finish though, one of the meanest, and cleanest KO's I've seen in a while.

Another great fight. I missed their first one. So glad I got to see their second bout. Holloway is the real deal. The last minute was brutal for Aldo

Holloway retains against Jose Aldo in devastating fashion. Finished him on the ground again in the 3rd. Left Aldo a bloody mess. :-(. Hard watch, Jose basically tried to stand there and box with him. Occasional kicks thrown but not enough to do much. Max put on a clinic tonight. Really great fight.

Holy shit. Ngannou man, just a different kind of monster. Literally feared for Reem’s life after that. Stipe should walk away, like that. Alvarez looked great tonight. Gaethje is a dumbass, those body shots were always gonna be there.

The more i see holloway, the less impressed i am. Just a volume puncher with good cardio. Doesnt seem to hit hard at all. Just tires guys out and capitalizes. Yet he couldnt wear out conor mcgregor, a guy who always gasses. I advise max to keep his scrawny ass at 145, if he ever fought at 155 where a guy his size belongs, he would literally die. Jose also is done. Maybe he can make a bellator run. Also, genuinely shocked alvarez won. Shocked he made it 1 round. The same guy that got dropped 4 times by conor and was on life support vs poirier...and beats gaethje?? Justin didnt look like justin though. He looked like joanna in her last fight, just off. Lotta people lsing thise zeros lately. Speaking of that, drakkar klose was definitely me last night. His fustration with the way david teymur fights was felt here too. I understand mma is a varied sport with many strategies, but i hate pussies who are basically shaking and scared to be hit. Its a ing fight! Same for cejudo. Bjj is cool. Ground and pound is cool. Take downs just to lay and pray is pathetic. Need to fix that. He did zero damage in 10 minutes of top control. I will literally hope he gets KOd in every fight he takes from now on. Stipe is done. Ngannou is gonna be champ soon. Just wow. That. Left. Hand.

I'm the same on Holloway, to me there’s nothing particularly impactful or exciting about the way he fights. Find his personality grating too. 145 seems shallow now too, given the streak he’s had.
Would’ve preferred they found someone other than Aldo to go up against him, he needed more time to rebuild for this fight
Hoping Ortega can get it done against Swanson. He is exciting.

Speaking of that, i believe cub swanson was the fight to make when edgar went down. He lost to max before, but he has been on a tear and i think would have down better than aldo. Ortega or cub might be the last hopes unless edgar gets it done (i dont think he can )

They don’t seem interested at all at giving Cub a shot having said that.

Just my theory but I don't think they gave him the shot only because this fight against Ortega is the last fight on his contract. He's already said he'd be testing the waters of free agency once it's up. Can you imagine the Montreal Screw Job sort of position the UFC would be in if he won the strap, fought out his contract, AND signed with the competition? I think that the UFC saw that his contract situation was the biggest issue in bringing the fight together and just avoided it the best they could've.

UFC 220 just got better for me. Cannot wait! Hopefully the rest of the card is great.

Plus there's another title on the line with D.C. and last time there were multiple title defenses, they all changed hands in spectacular fashion.

I know. I'm denying it, but I know. I don't know... I'd say it's pretty 50/50. A lot of people seem to be writing Stipe off, but he also has one-punch KO power - and great boxing too. And we've seen him hurt in the past and come through it... we've never really seen how Ngannou reacts when/if he's hit cleanly or hurt.

Big news!
Sounds like the Middleweight Title has been vacated by GSP. (Ariel Helwani reported just a while ago)
NOW, in Australia, Robert Whittaker will take on Luke Rockhold for the vacated strap.

I have bad sports luck and usually who I want to win doesn’t, so maybe if I embrace it?

I will agree that i believe it's too soon for this fight to happen now that i thought about it. And hey, for me Stipe is not only defending the UFC Heavyweight Title, hes defending Cleveland, so theres no way I'm rooting against Stipe. The thing im thinking is Dana wants to push Ngannou to the moon, Ngannous just fought, and we dont know how much Stipe has been training since his contract negotiations, so imo Dana put this fight this soon to sorta make sure Stipe has no chance of winning, if he hasn't trained hard all this time.
