Chris weidman doesn't have the chin to stand and bang.
Great fight. Both guys are awesome. Please give Jacare a title shot. He deserves it.

No doubt who would win that title fight last night. But man, Cormier is so boring and plays it so safe, he cannot be in the discussion for GOAT until he fights like a man that wants to fight.
That's why he wants the Lesnar fight. It's easy. He needs the Jones trilogy fight. But that isn't easy.

Not sure what you mean by "plays it so safe" and "until he fights like a man that wants to fight"... he's primarily a wrestler, so will always try to get his opponent down and submit/finish him - I don't see the problem. I mean, why would you stand and trade with someone, when your main strength is wrestling? And the UFC set up Brock to fight the winner of Stipe/DC, whoever it was... it's not as if DC handpicked Brock out of the blue. DC actually said recently that if Brock can't fight or the fight falls through, he'd like to go back down to LHW and fight Jones again... (I wouldn't be surprised if he postpones his retirement in March and does that anyway).

He could have easily gotten knocked out by Derrick Lewis.

But you can't blame them for playing to their strengths - and in DC's case, he always looks for the finish too (rather than the blanket "lay and pray" approach).

I mean you can play to your strengths that's fine. But more people hate DC than like him. And it's his boring style plus undeserved arrogance that turns people off.

I mean he landed a lucky shot. There is a reason he fought Lewis instead of a rematch with Stipe. Also, just my opinion. But Velasquez>Stipe.

Sources say DC confirmed he doesn't want a Jones trilogy fight. Lol. Says he doesn't need it. Well color me surprised.

DC said he/his team had noticed a weakness in Stipe in the clinch and had been working to capitalize on it. And DC admitted that Lewis was a good style match-up for him, so could fight him on short notice - if he was to fight Stipe again, he'd need a full camp and his hand to be 100%, which is understandable. I do agree Cain>Stipe though... I hope he can get/stay healthy and have another run at the title.

I do believe it was lucky just in how clean it connected, but I don't believe that diminishes it. Just that it's not like he was stalking prey all night, he just caught him. Dc as a champ reminds me of Woodley. They went all out to win titles, but are safe defending them almost like they are scared the title defines them. Not like a Holloway or Stipe or Lawler who always fought like they were the one with something to prove. I think Cain is done. I felt DC moved up because Cain told him as much. I can't prove that, but I know those AKA guys are loyal to each other and I don't think DC would step on his toes like that.

...sounds like they're both trying to convince themselves they don't want a 3rd fight. Only last week, DC was saying how much beating Jones would mean to his legacy - and I'm sure Jones would like to prove he can beat DC without roids/controversy too.

Holy sheet... that was insane!! Knockout of the year candidate, with only 1 second left in the fight. Wow.

Maycee Barber may have a nice future in the UFC. So violent for such a small girl.

First, i loved the retro look they went for this show. I saw the majority of the show. I missed the main event cause i was on video chat with friends and stopped paying attention. I did catch the last second KO by Yair Rodriguez. I could be wrong, but i think he broke the record for latest finish (correct me if I'm wrong). I loved the Cerrone/Perry fight. Cerrone looked vicious in that submission. Maycee looked vicious, and looks like a future contender if she gets a couple great wins under her belt. The rest of the card was ok IMO.
