It was so bad. Feel horrible for the guy. I just hope he retires. He hasn't been the same for years and now this. Silva never looked the same after his injury, it's not worth it.

What an idiotic thing to say. So someone can only get excited when they win the first time, but not the redemption? If anything her regaining the title probably means more to her than winning it the first time did. When she got slammed on her head, she essentially didn’t want to fight anymore and fell off of everyone’s radar. To come back from that and to beat a woman who was undefeated in the UFC and was a big favorite is pretty awesome.

If you just have disdain for Rose in general and/or she reminds you of some woman of your past, which clearly seems to be the case... get over it. It’s an awesome story. And just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean it’s fake.

Not much to add that hasn't already been said, but:

Weidman had a successful surgery today, so that's good news. I still haven't found an official 'diagnosis' but all signs point to a pretty severe tibia and fibula fracture. It sure looked like both of those bones snapped completely. Good news that his surgery was able to happen fast and go well though.

The notion of cancelling a division because someone is too good is ludicrous. 145 is different, since that division doesn't have enough women in the weight class period. There are lots of 125 women, Shev is just in a league of her own. They're not lacking for 125 fights, and Shev got a huge pop last night. People love to see her win (myself included). Reminds me of when the world suggested we stop having women's hockey in the olympics because Canada was too good at it. A source of pride for our country of course, but an equally insane idea that went nowhere. Now, years later, the Americans can compete and have beaten our women's team several times. A while later, some other hockey countries will catch up too. Women's soccer went on a similar trajectory. It takes a while, especially in female sports. I also don't see anyone clamoring to cancel Usman's weight class now that he's cleaned it out, because that would be bonkers.

Assuming Rose is 'fake' because you've met 'fake' women is flimsy at best. Could Rose be 'fake'? Well sure, of course it's possible. It's also possible that it was a pretty significant moment for her. There seems to still be a fairly large online community that reminds me a lot of the god-awful BB.com/misc section, where they're convinced that all women are super manipulative and fake. I am not familiar with this Red-pill reddit group, but I can only imagine by context the culture is similarly toxic.

Me too. From all that I've seen (and read), it seems she struggles with her confidence and the pressure(s) of being a world-class fighter... hence the need to keep telling herself things like "I'm the best" - and the relief/release of emotion after the fight.

Reyes is done. He needs 15-18 months off, and to become a point fighter. Or else he will wind up in bellator next year.

I mean, you're not wrong, but it's almost not gonna matter. 2nd full crowd event, far away from the first so a different packed house. As long as they've got some match ups that will likely lead to some more k.o. victories that crowd noise is gonna be so good it's gonna feel like a way better ppv than it is. They're gonna be looking for any reason to be loud and cheer, so the star power is less necessary. I'm glad they loaded up 261, but it could've been anyone on that card and it would've felt like a huge deal after so long without crowds.

I am looking forward to seeing Chandler again though.
