I largely missed when he was around and from what I've seen since going through the Network I haven't been impressed. I rarely if ever see him mentioned. Can someone explain the appeal of him, and what makes him so desirable on these forums outside of nostalgia? He was white hot in 98, he held two belts at one point. Got massive pops week in and week out. Had great matches and a diverse moveset. Tons of charisma, just by the way he walked to the ring. People obcess over Nakamura because of his movements, well Dlos were even better imo. There's all sorts of stories out there that after the Droz incident (Botched Powerbomb led to Droz becoming a paraplegic ) his push was completely derailed. And if you watch it back on the network , you'll see that. He was a weekly fixture on tv, still getting those big pops. But then right after that incident he's nowhere to be found. Winds up in a crappy tag team with beaver cleavage/woman beater/ Mosh/ Chaz . And they did absolutely nothing for about 2 years. It made no sence and really upsets me that they just completely killed his push after that incident. But now people like Rollins can go around ending Stings career and be pushed even harder. Or how Joe almost killed my favorite wrestler at the time Tyson Kidd with a Musclebuster , and still uses the move today. Wasn't him injuring Droz not too far removed from Owen's death? There is no way they could've pushed someone who turned another wrestler into a paraplegic just a few months after Owen's death. Especially with how the media during that time were constantly looking to report something negative about Vince.

Hmm I mean I can't really remember any 5 star classics , but he's had his fair share of kick ass matches. Maybe the one where he beats Jarrett and wins the IC title? Or some of his matches with Xpac from 98 (trading back and forth the European title I believe ) were really good too

They had all sorts of media bullcrap after Owens fall.

I loved D'Lo. I liked the skits when Mark Henry was in love with Chyna. From there D'Los matches always seemed fun to me

D'Lo probably saw an early prototype of Akam from Authors of Pain and thought he was getting a figure.

Not particularly a D'Lo fan but he certainly deserves a figure, and good to see more NOD members getting made. Bring on NOD Crush please (and more versions too - KroniK, NWO, etc)

Another negative about D'Lo besides the accidental Droz incident from back in the day were those weight issues (similar to Gangrel) he had, which WWF(E) frowned upon. He would fluctuate quite frequently. I believe a puffy, ruffled, Gothic pirate shirt probably hides those problems better than a singlet. By the way, I always loved Brown's singles attires circa 1999. The singlet & tights combo look (similar to Bret Hart) is a good one for most, I feel.

People obcess over Nakamura because of his movements, well Dlos were even better imo. I must admit, I don't ever read much wrestling opinion, but is the above true?
I find Nakamura absolutely weird. Bizarre movements do not equal Charisma in my opinion. He is like a super camp, terrible Michael Jackson impersonator.

Ha - I'm glad I'm not the only one. I genuinely get put off by him and Balor's entrances. Give me a D'lo or generic stone cold entrance any day. But back on topic, I would love a D'lo figure although not getting my hopes up.

Even bought 3 sets of the 4 Horsemen, 2 Heenan Family, & a Dusty w/ WCW ring. And I will do my part and buy it of I see it on the shelves. Now will the ones making the loudest noise do the same is a question.

Also cant believe someone would put dlo brown on the same level or above naka. This board is so twisted. Over exaggerating the worth of people like dlo, savio and mero all the time. Its ok to say you want a figure, but dont make it seem like these stars were legends.

I would love to have this however I'm not going to get my hopes up like when Ahmed told everyone he was getting an Elite Platinum figure. I was excited but still no figure. Maybe one day we will get Ahmed and hopefully the D-Lo rumor is true

Its ok to say you want a figure, but dont make it seem like these stars were legends. My opinions make me delusional ..? Because I enjoyed the hell out of Dlos work and don't like Nakamura at all? Go back and watch some of the pops Dlo got. He was over as hell. His theme would hit to a huge pop the likes of which we saw all the time back then, but very rarely see today. Look at the wrestling audience today compared to the attitude era. A FRACTION of the people who watched then , are watching now. And an even smaller fraction of those watch Japanese or NXT wrestling. Therefore yes, I do think Dlo can be considered a bigger star than Nakamra. Maybe one day he will prove me wrong. But until then , Dlo > Namakura.
