Ok here's a debate I find interesting when fans talk about this. What's the better ladder match? Wrestlemania 10 or SS95?
I personally like summerslam 95 better. Just feel it's a overall better match but I always hear fans and wrestlers say wrestlemania 10 was the better match. I understand it was innovative at the time and believe me I respect that but I just like SS95 better, honestly probably should have been the main even my rather than Diesel and Mabel.

They were both good but I gotta go with the WM 10 match. Just overall the match was better and there was a real feud behind it. The Summerslam match was just put together by then President Gorilla Monsoon. The match at WM had better build imo. The crowd was hotter as well in MSG then at the Igloo.

WrestleMania X for sure. Everything about it was so special.

Wrestlemania X felt like it was more story driven, with lots of focus put to the flow and emotion. Summerslam felt like it was more about the spots. I personally liked Mania better

Taken out of context, SummerSlam 95 was a better match IMO. However, given the backstory, WrestleMania X wins for overall presentation.

WrestleMania X by far. Their was a real build to it. Not to mention, it was a match built up over a span of five months beginning in October of 1993. Whereas, the SummerSlam 1995 match was thrown together. I believe it was originally going to be Shawn Michaels vs. Sid. What made the 'Mania X match better was the hype, the story, and psychology. Those three factors weren't present in their SummerSlam '95 encounter. I felt the 'Mania X match was better paced.

What was the reason for the switch at SS95? Trying to improve buy rates? To get Monsoon over as "president of the people?"

It wouldn't surprise me if Shawn went to Vince and told him he'd rather work with Razor since as we all know Shawn always got what he wanted during that time period.
Btw didn't Shawn bury Sid in his book? Saying he was a bad worker and all this stuff?

I always say WMX. It was a wrestling match that included a ladder. The match had great flow and psychology. It was also the 1st, had better build, feud, etc.
The SS one was also very good, but started the trend of becoming about the ladder.
Today ladder matches/MIB are all about spots and I don't care for them. Lets get 6+ guys, a bunch of ladders, within 2 mins we only have 2 guys in ring, one climbs the ladder, gets knocked off, next guy climbs, gets knocked off, repeat for 20mins.

I preferred the SummerSlam 95 match. Mainly because I am a fan of HBK more so than Razor, so to see HBK win the match was great!
This was also in a time where the WWE was against violence with weapons, so they really had to be tricky how they pulled off this ladder match at the time. I think it was more so, "you can't hit anyone with the ladder, but if you happen to hit the ladder then its okay" type of situation.
From what I remember hearing, Sid vs. HBK for the IC Title, and Razor/Savio vs. Yoko/Owen for the Tag Titles, were both supposed to take place at SummerSlam that year. That SummerSlam event is pretty weak actually, and HBK vs. Razor was probably the one match that saved that PPV from being a complete bore.

he buried him on TV during the IYH: Its Time title match vs Bret Hart too. HBK was on commentary and was poisonous about Sid.....LOL As for which match I prefer? Its hard for me to say......I flip flop on it a lot but currently its WMX 1) Its the culmination of a feud....and an interesting one too. 2) It was buoyed on by the enthusiastic MSG crowd 3) I felt the action was better...... 4) Even as a 15 year old I felt that the Summerslam 95 match only existed to establish HBK as the next guy......there was no other reason for it storyline wise. Also Michaels having several wobblers during the match hurts it.

In all fairness, they were both pretty good, but to be honest I suppose it's the 1st one at wrestlemania 10, plus the fact Razor had to overcome the odds of Diesel at ringside made it extra cool.

But Diesel got booted out of the match like 5 minutes into it. I wouldn't say Razor overcame the odds of Big Daddy Cool being at ringside with him not being there for 3/4 of the match.

Ahh the good ol' days when the IC Title meant something.

I actually prefer the Summer Slam match, but i think the biggest reason i do, is because I've seen the Mania one so many times that the SS version comes off as fresher. Although I've watched it probably 4 or 5 times over the years, it still isn't driven into my mind nearly on the level as the first. Plus that sick HBK foot/ankle bump is still a highlight to me.

Loved the mania 10 match but I hated that Shawn lost at the time as I heard a rumour that he was leaving if he lost (typical Shawn) The summerslam match has got something special too though. Same people, same stipulation but very different matches

I might be biased because I was at the RAW when Razor won the IC Title and the whole thing started which lead to the ladder match, but even as a fan back then, in my youth, I was kind of... It felt awkward when Gorilla Monsoon booked the rematch as a ladder match as well. At the time I felt like the first match was so special so why do it again- let it stand alone- and the build to the first one really felt special with there being two IC Titles in a sense. The second one just felt like overkill and still does for me.
