Look at the belts the guys in the crowd are holding. Really well made custom belts?

Did they have toy belts like that in the 80s? I know they had them by the very early 90's at least but even if they had them then they looked NOTHING like that. I had one of the very early kids belts, I think it was the WWF IC Title and the design looked nothing like an actual title. They had to be custom made or commissioned from one of the major belt makers back then. I don't think replicas became a thing until the late 90's maybe even the 2000's

I was never interested in buying them. Actual replica's became a thing in 1999. I remember when they began offering them. Sadly, we aren't allowed to mention the place that initially sold them. I still have a replica of the ECW World TV Championship that I got as a gift in 2000.

I have a catalog of a guy called J-Mar who made replica titles in the mid 80s. If I can find it, I'll try to scan it & share it here

That's definitely a replica of the IC and the WWF Title belt in the crowd!
Maybe they were indy wrestlers and knew a guy who could make the belts?? Just a guess. But very interesting to see back in the 80s!

I clearly remember a Raw from the Manhattan Center circa 93 with a guy in the first few rows holding a winged eagle replica and thinking "how the hell did he get that?!?" Had to be 93 cause thats when i remember the black guy who was always wearing that yellow Bob Backlund WWWF Champion shirt every week.

I miss those old school belts. I'm all about tradition and todays so called ''titles'' are a joke imo.

I found it. Bear with me. I don't have a scanner & my computer is doing weird things to my photos. Edit: My computer is being a douche. I took the pictures, but I can't get them. www.facebook.com/jmarbelts/
