OK I'm looking at the WWE ATM and I think the talent is the strongest it has been in years. Here's a list. Seth Rollins Dean Ambrose Roman Reigns AJ Styles Kevin Owens John Cena Demon Balor New Day Bray Wyatt Possibly Samoa Joe
Now I'm sure there are more but I honestly believe most of those guys are all that's needed to puts butts in seats at WM. We don't need a rare HHH match, Brock Lesnar working a half assed match, an old Undertaker and The Rock talking 30 minutes of crap.
Now don't get me wrong I love The Undertaker and enjoy seeing him but lets be honest is he really needed this year? The talent has gotten so great and I honestly believe the WWE should give these guys a chance to shine without being overshadowed by Legends.
It would save the company a lot of money too.

They have the names now to do it but I'm sure we're still far away from it happening sadly.

In all fairness, it's WM they'll make double what they lose.

I don't want to imagine a mania without part timers, it adds to the spectacle. When it comes a time when rock, taker, hhh officially retire we will have cena, Orton, lesnar (already is) as the new mania part timers and so forth.

Thing is, those part timers help sell PPV buys to those half ass'ed wrestling fans. The ones that don't follow it religiously. When they see names they know, they order the show.
But what WWE needs to be doing is using those part timers to put over the younger talent. Have Triple H lose to Rollins. Have Taker lose to Finn. Have Brock put over Ambrose or Reigns. Use the opportunity to showcase what they younger talent can do. Then maybe those half ass'ed fans will tune in more often to see these new guys that impressed them.

People who don't watch regularly are like "ok probably won't get this one, punk vs Jericho and sheamus vs Bryan don't sound worth it" then they see undertaker vs hhh in hiac and the rock vs cena and then they change their mind.

HHH recently renewed his contract as a wrestler for 3 more years, so we all know who will be main eventing Wrestlemania 33-35.

True but when the part timers were full timers they didn't have to share Mania with part times if you get what I mean. I do get your point about them putting young guys over but I don't want to see a match like Lesnar and Ambrose ever again.

"Time for a Wrestlemania without part timers?"
Maybe, but it won't be this year.
Not with Shaq vs. Big Show and Rollins vs. HHH probably being the two main event matches.

Part timers are necessary. WM is kind of like Church on Christmas. It draws huge, lots of people who dont religiously follow it but....its WM/Christmas mass....cant miss it. This is the one time a year you do attend.

This is the one time a year you do attend. Absolute not necessary. WrestleMania has come to be known as the night where part timers get the spotlight and the hell with the active roster. Because we all look forward to our most talented roster members in 8 man tag or ladder matches, and if they're *lucky* get squashed by a part timer! That's why we're on this board 52 weeks a year. Seriously, it's time. WWE's roster is the strongest it's been in forever and continues to improve year after year (and getting rid of Khali, Hornswoggle, El Torito, etc.). As long as there aren't a ton of injuries, I have faith WWE could produce an amazing WM without the help of unneeded, overpaid egos. Besides, those extra WM buys probably don't even generate revenue because they're just free trials who cancel after the first month.

The longer Triple H, Chris Jericho and Undertaker are in WM matches the more embarrassing it will become to not only loyal fans, but also fans who only come around for Mania. The voices will be louder
"WHAT IS HE STILL DOING WRESTLING?"
"THESE GUYS REALLY HAVE NOTHING ELSE BETTER TO DO?"
"ISN'T HE DEAD YET?"

Another way to look at it What was the most anticipated match at wm 30 - Bryan vs Orton can Batista (part timer) What was the most anticipated match at wm 31 - Hhh (part timer) vs Sting (part timer) What was the most anticipated match at wm 32 - Shane (part timer) vs Undertaker (part timer) Part timers draw

WWE needs to do a better job of showcasing their current roster instead of sticking people in battle royals and ladder matches just to have them on the show. I'm tired of musical performances, The Rock kissing the audience's ass for 30 minutes, and legends dancing backstage.

the thing about the part timers and WM, if you just have the regular roster on the show, what makes WM different than any other show? think about past WM's and the monday RAW afterwards. how many matches were rematches? and which matches could you only see at WM itself? take those part timers in matches out of past WM's and replace them with wrestlers on the roster, what do those matches look like? if you didn't have an undertaker match the last 5 years, or HHH or Shane McMahon or the Rock, or Batista or Lesnar. how would those WM's be different from a Backlash or Payback? jump to this coming year, if you took part-timers out. what matches would be different than matches they put on RAW or Smackdown or any of the ppv's now?

What we have is talented performers and yet none outside of Cena are actual icons to cross media. Not to mention you got talented guys being used like welcome mats...IE Cesaro.
