WTH was this mess? There's no story for this just a random guy in a masked kane costume trolling Kane for months and kane has enough of his crap and beats him up and thats it.

I want to say this was because of the May 19th thing. See No Evil came out and a fake Kane which was Luke Gallows. I believe.

Kane was rumoured to retire at that time so it was originally going to revealed that the Kane from 2002 onwards was an imposter and the fake Kane was infact the real Kane from 1997/2002.
It was basically a plan to keep the Kane character on screen after Glen retired but thankfully the whole thing flopped.
In costume Gallows didn't even look like the original Kane either so that alone made it look like a joke..

I loved it when the Masked Lane came face to Face with Kane. After that I didn't like it! So wanted to see that Kane return too.
May 19th always makes me laugh as that's our Wedding anniversary but I always think of Kane first!

Gallows was terrible at being fake Kane. He was shorter and just wasn't believable at all in the role. Thank God it flopped.

As a kid, I could easily engage with this story line. Now, I look back and see it as being absolutely illogical. I felt like we were teased with Kane clutching the mask.

His hair looked like dried up orange pubes. It was awful. He was shorter and smaller and with that horrible tattoo he had to wear the double sleeves.
