That's kind of a win for everyone if true... at least imo. I'm happy TNA gets to fight another day and I'm happy my AJ Styles and Bobby Roode DVD sets get to be as phenomenal and glorious as possible.

This really is the best case scenario.

Kind of weird that TNA (or whatever it will be moving forward) will not be able to show old footage/matches or sell DVD's, etc....
Going to put homegrown guys like EC3/Eddie Edwards, etc. in a strange position, as most of their best career footage will belong to a company they never worked for!

Won't Corgan get hit with a non-compete time limit before he can regroup? Or does that not apply in this case?

Going to put homegrown guys like EC3/Eddie Edwards, etc. in a strange position, as most of their best career footage will belong to a company they never worked for! EC3 technically worked in WWE and I'd argue EE's best stuff was in ROH, but I agree it's a weird setup for them. You have to think about the exposure those guys will get on WWE Network though over what TNA's reach would be. It's much better for their personal brand to be on the Network than having TNA hold the footage hostage over DVDs they can't afford to make. From Billy's perspective it's really marketing for the wrestlers he has in his promotion. My best guess is that this isn't a straight forward deal though. I'm sure there is going to be a ton of fine print over usage and what Billy has the right to show on his product and what WWE can do with the footage. WWE has recently said they want to be a working library of all wrestling history. TNA, for better or worse, is a big part of maintaining that ideology for WWE. So the move makes sense.

So really, what it comes down to is...
The WWE bought TNA. Because if Billy Corgan is changing the name around, it means its a new company all together.
It will have all the former TNA stars in it that were currently there, but still, its a new company all together. Vince bought TNA Wrestling. No ways about it!

I had a momentary brain explosion due to this big news, I know that Michael Hutter did begin in NXT.... But c'mon, the highlights of his career have been as E...C...3....... And WWE will own all of that. It's just weird.....

This is dumb.
I'll believe it when it's official.
Also why not just get rid of TNA altogether and just make a new company that is exactly like TNA?
That sucks because if true, now they can't use the Bound For Glory or any other PPV names.

I'd like to know what he paid. Wonder if they'll announce it. Or if the network price will increase.

Exactly, WWE gets the tapes they want, TNA gets to sty in business under a new name and leadership, and Dixie Carter is finally kicked out. Hopefully Corgan can make the company what it was and give it a brighter future.

Good. the promotion/name "TNA" needs to die. It's already a promotion that is tainted with negativity. Not to mention when you actually think about it "Total Nonstop Action" is one of the lamest names for a wrestling promotion ever. Hell, even Impact wrestling is silly.
Corgan NEEDS to re-brand. You have a boatload of talented, popular wrestlers. You can start FRESH with new titles, new styles, new presentation. Streamline the company, get it to where it needs to be.
WWE can now make money off half the guys they've signed who were in TNA. It's all for DVD/Network stuff anyway...and it's wrestling, so it holds value to them.
Now TNA can finally disappear, and I trust that Billy Corgan will actually do something with the new brand. But this, to me, is a potential win-win for everyone involved. It's time to move on from TNA/Impact Wrestling.

Probably not much. Their offer has apparently been on the table for months. If it was a lucrative offer, I don't think TNA would've hesitated, and so far, we've heard nothing about WWE submitting any new bid.

Billy Corgan should completely rebrand TNA to Impact Wrestling Championship, or IWC for short.

This sounds perfect to me. TNA needed a rebrand anyways since they have been garbage for a really long time now and could use a fresh new start. WWE gets to show old footage on their network of guys like Styles, Samoa Joe, Roode, Sting, Angle etc. And Dixie gets a big payday. I honestly can't think of how this could have worked out any better.

Interesting if true. I don't see the library being worth a whole lot other than like 04-08
