The Walmart Toy Book for 2016 is out and it has 32 pages of toys, etc. I didn't see any Mattel WWE figures advertised in there at all. Do you think this is significant? Do you think it potentially has a negative impact on the line, especially during the holiday season? We have seen multiple discussions about distribution and retail in stores like Walmart, which include folks having concerns about product warming and new stuff not coming in at all. Your reaction? www.theblackfriday.com/walmart-toy-catalog.php

No.
WWE doesn't really have the "hot" toy this year. The Basics have already been rolled back to $7 and change again (And TRU will never meet that price point, though Target might go down to $7 or $8 again like they did last year) and when it comes to the holidays little else matters because a parent/grand parent/whoever is more likely to buy a single Basic figure for a kid than an Elite or two pack. Walmart is smart in not advertising in the sense that they don't really have amything to brag about. No one is going to want to come and get their hundreds of Aron Rex and Sid Who Is Sycho figures for even $17 and change.

Based on some of those photos we've seen of some wally worlds and their DM warrior displays we'll be getting a random special holiday price closer to the holidays or even be running a black Friday sale

I find it odd that they pay for exclusive figures but do not advertise them. Not everyone reads these boards or checks the web for reveals at various conventions. You'd think they would want to advertise they are the only place to get an elite Tyler Breeze, WM31 Rock, Bam Bam, Natural Disasters, etc. Same with TRU not listing any of their Network figures.

Is it significant? No. Negative impact? None.
I don't think anyone is limited to the contents of the book only. And I don't think someone will pass something up in store if its not in the book. That book is flawed anyway, there are a lot of toy lines not shown or properly represented.
My feeling is that this thread is attempting to invoke the same emotions as the lack of content in stores thread and its not deserving of it. Its just a holiday catalog from Wal-Mart.

Plus, there is a strong possibility that WWE figures are not pushed heavily by Mattel for the holiday season. I'm sure there are other big ticket items or things that have a bigger priority with the company. And I'm sure they have a say in it, not to mention Wal-mart does whatever they want. I would imagine these are deals where Walmart tells Mattel what they want, Mattel agrees or disagrees and then they make their book. Just thinking out loud here but I'm thinking they treat figures like something people will buy no matter what. They're not expensive compared to most things, so they advertise things to get people into stores. When people are in the actual store, they end up grabbing stuff like figures if they have kids anyways.

Doesn't really seem like a big deal. I agree with others that there will be some sort of Black Friday deals going on, especially with 100+ DM Warriors my Walmart has. I'd guess DM Warrior on Black Friday for $10 or less..
Not to mention, WalMart has been the only retail store around here that has had a decent selection.

There are big money items that are always going to be a higher priority during the holiday season. WWE figures that sell for 10-20 bucks are year-round movers, and as such, are probably less of a priority during the Christmas rush.

In 2010 they were, but not in 2014. In 2014 they were basically the same price they are now. He said there was a sale. And I don't even remember them being that low. Iirc, they were about $14.99.

I was simply asking folks what they thought of the omission and whether or not it has significance. I'm thinking the rest is just in your head lol.

There are no Mattel WWE figures in Walmart stores, so there are no Mattel WWE figures in the Walmart Toy Book

It's quite simple, most walmarts are still clogged with poor selling figures from e32 to e39 and now are on rollback.
They are not going to put stuff thats on rollback in there christmas flyer. Walmart minus there exclusive figures are not moving much.
