Yeah, I'll never forget where I was when Steve Black Man hit Shane with Singapore Shane. Then he Felled from a signifcance distance onto the crash pack. I yelled to my neighbor out the window "Look at Shane-O Go-O" he walked over and gave me a high five he spent the night, but overall I think Shane has a place in the ring at WWE.

Not exactly but yes, Balor was trying to impress the Raw crowd and prove he could go. He also posted his arm out and destroyed his shoulder. Shane could do the same silly thing, take a simple but hard hitting bump and make a mistake hurting himself. Ringshape is different than being in shape and Shane is far from being in ringshape. Overall Shane was an influence on many including the Hardy's and other high-flyers such as Rey mysterio I will never forget when Steve black man hit Shane with the Singapore Shane and Shane Felled off the stage rey mysterio and the hardys were both wrestling high risk styles years before shane had even appeared on wwe tv...

Spot could'be gone to someone else but Shane is great and it's good to change things up.

the fact that Owens, Rollins, Jericho, Roman, and Braun. Are go to have to sell his pathetic punches is a joke. Also the face that the McMahon, are a focal point in 2016 is why I can't take WWE seriously. You take WWE seriously enough to keep signing up new accounts here to complain about what they do. If you didn't take them seriously, you wouldn't do that.

It's just funny that he's hired to be A on screen presence/wrestler only.

If you want something done right, sometimes you gotta do it yourself. Shane is by far better than Corbin anyways. This! Corbin is alright but no where near the right person for the spot.

I love Shane but him being in a Survivor Series 5 on 5 won't amount to anything special on his behalf. It was cool in 2001 because he was a Heel and everyone knew he was going to eat everyone's Finishers but I have a feeling he'll be holding his own against the RAW guys for a few minutes this time and throwing jabs which is stupid in a Non-No DQ environment IMO.
Should've been Kane or Cena to fill the team out.

From a kayfabe standpoint though, wouldn't pinning/submitting the guy who is the on screen boss of Smackdown be something for a heel like Owens or Jericho to brag about?

Not my first (or second) choice either. But it could be worse I suppose. Before anyone asks... Harper, Kane, Miz, Crews would all have worked fine IMO. Someone like Crews, Corbin, or Harper could have benefited from a strong performance in the match. Hell, Corbin would have benefited from just walking out on his team. Agreed on all fronts.....also include me in the crew that wouldn't have "passed out to see Shane wrestle this time last year". No real gripes with Shane but I never really enjoyed him in the ring after(or before) KOTR 2001. That was his high point never to be surpassed.
