So I was an indy guy, retired due to my kidneys failing (having to go on dialysis, ultimately having kidney transplant surgery).
I was planning on coming back for 1 show with the company I started out with 10yrs ago (POG! Wrestling, out of Michigan... their 100th show is this Saturday night, if anyone's in southern MI), and was going to call it a day. Due to transportation issues, I'm unable to make it, but the door maybe kept open for a later return - pending if POG! reopens full time.
NOW... onto the topic at hand, that correlates with my situation....
In Dallas during WM32 weekend, I got to meet Konnan and I had inquired about his past kidney situation, to which he said there was none.
However, after doing some checking online, there are a few articles from interviews done with Konnan, that states he worked with TNA while he was on dialysis, and had a kidney transplant in July of 2007 - but continued wrestling until 2013 (ironically, just about the same duration of my in-ring status... 2006-2012).
So it's got me thinking: if Konnan was telling truth/articles were wrong, maybe making a comeback might not be the best option.
But if Konnan was steering off from the topic and he really did wrestle with a transplanted kidney.. why can't I..?
My question to all of you reading this (fans & fellow indy workers): 1) do any of you know about Konnan's situation for sure? and 2) do any of you know of any other wrestlers out there (indy/major/retired/active/living/dead), who've wrestled after having a transplant surgery?
Any info on this matter would be great!
