This. Plus, as someone earlier mentioned, the parents could have easily explained to the kid "it's just a show. he's playing a character. Don't worry Roman [since he's got his t-shirt] will beat him up for you" and crisis adverted. But then they don't get to complain on the internet about how wrong it was Nor does WWE react and send them free stuff which I'm sure will happen.

I'm a little torn on this. I'm all for Owens staying in character and I feel like the mother should have been able to explain to the kid that Owens plays a bad guy and she should have urged the kid to boo him.
However, being that the kid was 7, maybe Owens could have toned it down a bit. Maybe ignored the kid, or just been like "Really? Roman Reigns?"
I get the impression that Owens is a child friendly guy and given that his son was the subject of controversy earlier in the year this whole thing seems a bit strange.

"My son is 7 not 15 or 16" This is part of the reason why WWE is PG... such pussies.

This reminds me of the story Roddy Piper used to tell where he and a friend were approached by a young fan who asked for Piper's autograph. Piper took the kids picture, ripped it in half and spit at the kid. His friend asked him why in the hell he'd do that. Piper said "That kid would have lost that autograph and forgot he ever met me. He'll remember that interaction until the day he dies". This wasn't word for word, but I love Piper for doing that. The world needs more villains. Piper was he ing man. Lmfao imagine Ric Flair telling some kid he was his daddy He wouldn't necessarily be lying...

Should parents let their kids believe wrestling is real? I don't know. I'm not a parent. But this wouldn't be an issue at all if the kid knew what he was watching.

What does her mother having Leukemia have anything to do with Owens playing his CHARACTER?
Lady is posting a sob story, looking for sympathy... and most likely a handout.
Anyone have the link to her Twitter account?

Ugh people are just looking for anything these days. Sympathy, handouts, unfortunately we've given this woman what she probably wanted all along and that was her 15 minutes of fame. Kevin Owens (while being booked as a poor champion) will always play one of the greatest heels in the company. Hopefully this doesn't affect him with the top brass, I would hope they understand he was doing his job here perfectly. Ugh silly bitch this is entertainment. Vader didn't give luke a bandage after he cut his hanf off. I really blanked for a minute and was trying to remember a match that ever happened between Vader and Bushwacker Luke, let alone one where his hand was cut off hahah. Been a long day.

Every time I read something like this, I die a little inside and want to do this: ing people not knowing where the line is drawn and pitching a ing little baby tantrum just to get free crapdrives me up a damned wall. What really ing kills is that the WWE will cave and give her crapbecause they don't want the negative PR blowback...but what they really should be doing is dropping a ing YOU hammer down on her all over their website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, EVERYWHERE. Make her a ing pariah and make an example out of her so people stop this petty bullshit. All right...rant over...

Bad guy acts like a bad guy and gets called a bad guy for it. Sounds to me like someone who is doing their job better than most. Perhaps mother and son should find some other source of entertainment because they obviously don't get it.

Anyone remember the time Ric Flair ripped a Hurricane mask of a kids face and then tramped on it?
Now that was brutal.

I wanna say that back in the mid 80s, a 10 year old kid touched Elizabeth on the way to the ring, and Randy Savage punched the kid in the stomach!! Now that's heel heat. Owens is doing what he is supposed to do. Antagonize the fans and be as annoying and frustrating as possible, for the fans to hate him. Just because some heels break character and high five a kid, doesn't mean all heels are gonna do that lady!!

LOL at everyone blaming the parent or kid. when the blame really is on WWE if they didn't aim their show at kid. things like this wouldn't happen. How is it WWE's fault for a guy playing a bad guy doing his job lol? The mom acknowledged that the kid is a huge WWE fan so he obviously knows what Owens' behaviour towards the fans is like so you'd think he would've been well aware that he wouldn't be getting a high five lol. The mom should've just explained that it's not real and he's playing a character rather than writing a sympathy essay on the internet. Ignore him. He has a stupidity quota he has to reach each day.
