Definitely Star Wars Black Series.
I got into it a bit too late and some of the characters I really want from the original trilogy are either too expensive or are slightly off in some way.
I did pull the trigger on a few and have my sights set on some more for 2017, but yeah, the earlier sets have passed me by.
Collecting Marvel Legends and selected MS and select WWE Mattels is about all I can manage.

For me it'd be Star Wars Black, Marvel Legends, the Final Fantasy characters Play Arts Kai have done, and Acid Rain figures. If I had the coin, I'd branch into those but I know my limits as a collector. For Black and ML, it'd be such a huge money money pit early on trying to backtrack to the older series I'd want. And Play Arts Kai/Acid Rain figures are just flat out expensive in general.
With that said, I always visit the SWB and ML sections of toy stores just to check out whats being made in person. I've become fascinated with the customs/repaints I see online of those 2 brands. The factory paint jobs on SWB figures don't do the actual sculpts justice. When repainted, those things look like premium collector items.

Every Mortal Kombat figure line, except the recent Storm Collectibles one. I love the MK universe and would love figures of all the characters. But I want high-quality figures and I want classic designs. Until the Storm Collectibles line, every other MK figure line has been particularly poor quality and/or mostly modern character designs. So I could never bring myself to pull the trigger.
Thankfully Storm Collectibles MK line is a dream come true for me and I am thrilled to collect the line. I just really hope the line lasts long enough to get lots of characters. Ideally I want a figure of every character (classic looks only though!) from the original trilogy (MK1,MK2,MK3,UMK3,MKT) and maybe a few from MK4.
---
I also am sometimes tempted to get various Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Zords. I have the Tamashii Nations Figuarts figures (which I love) and would like to add Zords to the display. But my reluctance is the scale. The only available MMPR Zords are too small (I believe 12" is the biggest currently available) in my opinion to look good with the 6" Rangers. I'm not expecting or wanting accurate scale (for anyone that's worked it out, it would be utterly ridiculous) but I just want the Zords to be a decent size bigger than the figures. Like, bigger than 12". Perhaps 24" or so.
I was looking forward to the 24" Dino Megazord from Bandai, which was apparently cancelled. Then I was looking forward to the 31" Dino Megazord from Jakks, but then that disappeared without trace or explanation too. Then I was somewhat curious about the Soul Of Chogokin Dino Megazord, till I found out it was even smaller than the Legacy one. So yeh as much as I would like Zords for my display, I'm holding out for bigger ones.

I've pulled the trigger on most lines but right now I'm looking at Japanese Wrestling figures, I love LJN and Galoob and OSFTM non-moving wrestling figures and the fact that Japan has kept it going mostly all in scale and added detail and accessories...just so cool...but I don't think until I find a ring or an unbelievable deal I'll pick any up.
Another is GI Joe vintage vehicles, I have the figures but have yet to find a vehicle I really want to bring home.
I collected He-Man and TMNT until I was a teenager but I've been thinking about getting back into it and adding some vehicles/Playset to the collection. I just don't get as excited about them but you never know what'll make you crack, lately I've been playing that TMNT Legends app and I also love the old SNES/NES games so that could be what finally breaks me down.
I find my main issue with the Turtles is I find it hard to find a definitive version of the four Turtles I like the most. The rest of the characters it's usually their first release I'm happy with but for the Turtles I'd kind of like to have four I like more than the original versions of the toys.

Hot toys figures. The price is the thing that keeps me from collecting them.

I wish I collected Resident Evil and Street Fighter figures when I was a kid. I went from TMNT to WWE Jakks and never have much thought buying other toys growing up.
I also enjoyed looking at the back of old video game magazines and see all the import stuff.

Yeah, when I was a tween in the mid-80s, I *really* wanted to get into Maxx Steele's ROBO-Force (not to be confused with Mattel's Max Steel). I see now that a relaunch was attempted a couple of years ago, so I might look into that.

Definitely Star Wars Black and the recent retro (that's an oxymoron haha) Power Rangers stuff. I just don't have the room or the funds with my focus on WWE, World of Nintendo, and random blind bag stuff. I actually started Black with Kylo Ren, but I couldn't pull the trigger on that cool Walgreens electrocuted Vader and subsequently realized the can of worms I'd be opening up if I tried to start a collection.

Star Wars Black Series, like many others on here. Also, The Walking Dead action figure line, which I may still look into.

I wish I collected Mezco South Park, Star Wars 6" Black Series and Palisade Muppets. (Diamond Muppets scratched that itch though)
I regret selling my complete Marvel Legends collection.

I forgot what they were called but as a kid there was a toy line of food that I wanted but never had. It was food with faces and arms/legs. Some guys were the good guys and some where the bad. I want to say they wore different colored hats to distinguish which was the bad food and which was the good.

I really wanted to get into Biker Mice From Mars! I loved them as a little kid. I actually had a few left from my childhood. Then I bought a couple online but lost interest in them soon after.
My brother had me start collecting the Power Rangers Imaginext. I don't care for the style but hey they released a Scorpina so I bought most of the villains!

I had a few Micronauts as a kid. I wish I had the entire line, but I was already addicted to completing the Star Wars figure line.
Other honorable mentions:
Remco 3 3/4" Monsters (Dracula, Wolfman, Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Phantom of the Opera & Mummy).
Clash of the Titans 3 3/4" figures.
Indiana Jones figures & playsets.

I'm really intrigued by Figuarts, Mafex, and Hot Toys. I plan on starting a collection of all three in the next year. I just ordered my first figuarts figure. Amazon had Figuarts Deadshot on sale for $25 so I figured why not... I am going to be getting a hot toys figure soon as well but I'm having a hard time deciding between the Netflix Daredevil or Punisher...

I really would love to get into the X-Men Legends figures, but I’m such a fan boy of the Jim Lee 90s versions that I’m not interested in some of them. Is there a series of just those? I think I could even get my dad in on those.
