Guess I got lucky. I just got the last 1989 Batman from spamS. I'm kind of excited and scared at the same time. I don't think I've ever spent this much on a solo figure. I've owned one Mezco, (Michael Myers) and sold him a while back. I wasn't too big on the way he looked. I'm considering getting the Figuarts 1989 Batman too, not sure yet. What do you guys think about the Figuarts version?

Guess I got lucky. I just got the last 1989 Batman from spamS. I'm kind of excited and scared at the same time. I don't think I've ever spent this much on a solo figure. I've owned one Mezco, (Michael Myers) and sold him a while back. I wasn't too big on the way he looked. I'm considering getting the Figuarts 1989 Batman too, not sure yet. What do you guys think about the Figuarts version? I think 89 Batman was sold out yesterday when I was looking through their Mezco. Somebody may have canceled their order today. |

Yeah, I think Big Bad preorders were sold out for a while, but they usually add one when somebody cancels a preorder.

The NECA figure is superior even with the minimal accessories. |

PJ It would be nice if those Batman figures would stop coming with that pulse cannon or whatever it is. Seems like all the Batman figures come with it. Other than that, that new Bats may be my favorite Mezco Bats not named Batman 89.

I hated the old Black Series Ep. 3 Obi Wan so sprang for the Figuarts version. Have owned some Mafex figures in the past but figuarts to me are just excellent. Ended up getting Ep. 3 Anakin and just got Endgame Antman for my birthday. Great figures, great quality. Poseability is premiere and outfits are great. The only thing I think I ever don't love is the head sculpts. On the Star Wars figures they are the best around but the Ant-Man is a bit soft......
That said, the Figuarts head looks off. It doesn't look like Keaton to me but I will wait for full judgement when the figure is out.... If anything, I'll just be waiting on some custom heads or have someone shrink the NECA head.

He has kind of "poofy" lips is what I think of when I see them. The figuarts looks to square on the jaw line for my liking and as you said the lips look off..... In a perfect world, the Mezco head will work on the figuarts body. That would be my best case scenario.
Also, just as a side note, I worry about the quality of the mezco being a metal skeleton with rubber built around it..... I imagine for those that pose it, it splits and disintegrates within 2 years. I'm most likely never going to touch mine.

Trying to order this Doc Nocturnal figure because it looks pretty cool, but yet again the site crashes on a preorder. Not sure why I even wasted my time and got hyped. How they still haven’t fixed this is mind boggling.
Update:
After 40 minutes, it finally said that my payment failed. After 6 attempts with the same exact card, it finally went through.

I ordered the Batman Day exclusive Supreme Knight Batman Shadow Edition this afternoon. That one looks to be a beast with 5 heads, 3 chest logos, multiple hands, 2 capes and accessories. As well as a smoke cloud.   |

Looks cool but I missed out. Don't really care too much to add another batman variant to my shelf at this point. I am really only interested in movie figures and villains (which we have no hope of ever getting). I'm stoked about the '89 Mezco and '89 Figuarts but as excited as I am, I know within a few short months of receipt I will just be aching for a Nicholson and other movie figures.
It's strange to say but I think I may be at the end of my figure collecting time. Neca seems poised to finish the F13 license and without that, I don't have interest in much besides horror, a few Star Wars characters, and the odd movie figure from time to time. Mezco certainly isn't doing anything enthralling anymore. I couldn't care less about their original figures let alone half-done figures of John Wick etc. They are kind of falling into a rut for me. The constant "exclusives" are pretty tough to deal with as well.

My Mezco One:12 Batman Day Exclusive Supreme Knight Batman Shadow Edition arrived today. There’s so many options with the five heads and three bat logos for the chest.
