Any word at all on Keaton '89 Batman? The preorder is saying within the next few months, but after my experience canceling the PX Cable last year because of the continuous delays, I'm not sure how accurate it is. I'm all paid up on Keaton, so I'm fine waiting, but I just have no idea when to expect it.

Those look like buys to me. My Christopher Reeve wasn't handed off to FedEx or picked up. Mezco created the label around 10:30 on Friday morning.

Just add another year to whatever the initial release date is and you might be on target. I'm getting this Keaton Batman and then running away. So absurd that they still haven't figured out how to hit target dates yet. I'm also still bitter about the crapshow that was John Whack

I’m surprised they’re still available for pre order normally this mezco stuff goes quick The other night I was watching an interview with the owner of Mezco and he explained the situation and it makes some sense. He said that they do preorders for mass releases where they gather orders over a period of time before going into production. Those tend to be easier to get if you order within the window. Then there’s the exclusives, where they’ve determined quantities and either already have the product or are already in production. He said those are at a set quantity. However, they monitor waitlists and determine if they can or want to do another run if enough people are on the waitlist. He said he wants as many people to get the products without having left over inventory. Seems like it’s not a perfect system, but it makes sense. Lately I’ve been jumping on waitlists for stuff I wanted but missed. If they don’t make it, I don’t get charged. If they do make it, I pay for the figure I wanted to buy anyway. |

Damn it Mezco.... my previous statement about "Keaton and running away" may have been a little premature..... I did also order the JL 3-pack. Had to have that flash. I also missed out on the original release of the similar Batman so that's a win. That said, the Superman in the black suit is just a bonus for me. At around 86 bucks and some change per figure, no reason not to pull the trigger. That Affleck head looks rubbish like the Nightmare Batman head. Masked one looks phenomenal as does the superman and flash heads.

The Steel Box Wolverine looks fantastic but I can’t justify spending $155 plus tax and shipping on it. The DC Snyder JL box set was only $260 for three figures...this is $100 less for one.

I thought about ordering from them, but the $155 price (as well as the 45 preorders I have with them) I just can’t justify it. If it was a Batman, Hal Jordan, Nightwing, Green Arrow, Captain America, another attempt at the Special Ops Punisher or red costume comic DareDevil...I would gladly dropped the money for it and dealt with the fallout of telling my wife. But as much as I like the look of the figure it wasn’t worth the conversation I would have had to have. So I guess my Mezco X-Men will just be Cyclops and Gambit. lol |

Comparing this Wolverine and the JL 3 pack is tricky. The value comparison comes down to what you’re looking for. The JL 3 pack is three figures, with minimal accessories. The Wolverine is a figure, a diorama base with light up features, and a crap ton of accessories that gives you a ton of options. If you don’t care about the base or the accessories, it’s a totally valid comparison. Personally, I’m going to be using the figures in photography and I see myself getting way more use out of the Wolverine figure. When I saw the price I was like “Let’s see what gimmicks they through in to pad that price.” Then I looked at what it comes with and honestly thought it was worth it for me. I look at it and figure I’ll probably never need another Mezco Wolverine after this. |
