Didn't know just BEING in a match with someone is "holding their own" and "hanging with". Bahahaha As far as Corbin and tonight's main event goes, they did a good job highlighting what he is good at and hiding what he isn't good at (except for breaking up pin attempts - fix that timing Corbin). Its a lot like what Heyman did with all of the his wrestlers on ECW. He didn't ask a brawler to be technical wrestler or a technical wrestler to be a high flyer, etc. I like what they are doing with Corbin much like Raw is doing with Strowman but both need to be developed a little slower and not hotshotted into the main event scene just because Vince likes big guys or they get a big pop two shows in a row for breaking up boring jobber matches.

Everyone thinks like him. Corbin shouldn't be in the main event picture because he's not ready.
Dude has a lot of work to do before even being involved in a feud with main event level talent. He's well below average in the ring and awkward on the mic... and no, I don't care about his shoot promos on a "reality" WWE Network show.

The highlights of SMACKDOWN definitely had to be American Alpha winning the WWE Tag Team Titles and the WWE Championship Triple Threat Match.

The right guy took the pin. Great match. Outside of the missed cue on breaking up the pin, Corbin looked good in his biggest match ever. Really showed his potential to throw kicks and punches. We almost always disagree on things. I'm not going to try and change your mind on anything.

Another great show. The parity between Raw and Smackdown is increasing by the week. If I didn't know any better, I'd assume Vince McMahon was completely hands-off Smackdown again.
Cena came off like a bit of a heel tonight, and AJ did nothing to suggest he's not slowly becoming a babyface. Interesting dynamic. Main event was excellent. Baron Corbin is everything Roman Reigns should be as a character, and he's improving in the ring weekly.
Didn't like American Alpha winning the tag belts, though. Too soon. They've just been floundering around, not on a "journey" as Mauro suggested after their victory. This looked bad for the Wyatt Family after all the talk about them being unstoppable, and I don't think putting the titles on Gable and Jordan this soon are going to do them, or the titles any favors.

A double turn involving Cena and AJ would be wonderful.

A double turn involving Cena and AJ would be wonderful. That would be interesting, but AJ is just in his element as a heel. You can tell he's just way more comfortable on the mic and the way he carries himself. I would still keep him as a heel through WrestleMania and then maybe make the switch afterwards.

I hate how AJ is getting the CM Punk treatment all over again - hold the title and do all the dirty work, lose it just before the biggest show of the year and then get thrown into some random feud because whatever. Who said he's losing the championship? Can you really see him going over Cena for a fourth time within the span of less than a year? I definitely can't. Not to mention, if he beats Cena cleanly, who is left to challenge AJ for the title heading into Mania? All indications are that it's going to be Cena and Taker headlining Mania, and based on Taker's promo from last month, the WWE Title is going to be at stake. They wouldn't have had him talk about how WrestleMania won't be the only thing that defines him anymore if they weren't planning on something bigger than just a normal singles match like he has every year. Cena versus Taker for the title seems like a given, IMO.

No. Most people were "doom and gloom" because Styles was going to "job" to Super Cena so he could be a 16x World Champion. The fact of the matter is that Cena has lost to Styles on three different occasions so pardon me for believing that Styles actually has a chance of walking out of Royal Rumble still champion. WWE could easily build to Cena / 'Taker without the championship and easily find someone to work with Styles at 'Mania. Hell.. have Orton start chasing the championship for the Wyatt Family by winning the Royal Rumble. I'd pay to see Orton / Styles for the strap. I doubt they'll even 'member Undertaker had a promo on Smackdown between now and 'Mania so his promo is a moo point.

Seth Rollins won't be happy when he realises Triple H was at Smackdown...

I get that kayfabe is dead in this day and age, but it really is aggravating how they act like Triple H the COO and Triple H the wrestler are two entirely different people lol.

Just got back from smackdown. Pretty good show.
I saw Baron Corbin in this pizza place near Allstate. I said hi and he said what's up back. too intimidated to go up and ask for a pic. So a hi was all I needed.

Why do I get the strong feeling they're taking the belt off AJ at the Rumble? Because they are.

I'm going to say right now SMACKDOWN was better than RAW. I think that the fact that Smackdown is shorter forces them to be more creative. That and sometimes 3 hours of wrestling is just too much. Raw has a lot of my favorite wrestlers but I think Smackdown is using their wrestlers better.
