Toy designer David Vonner is going to Mattel to be a design manager for the wwe division. This is great as Bill and him will make a great combo for the WWE lines.

You are going to have to give the people a little more info than that. I don't imagine many people know the designers that well, or at all.
"We have gotten word that toy designer David Vonner is heading to Mattel to be a Design Manger for their WWE division. For those not familiar with who David is, he was one of the Senior Designers at Hasbro several years ago who worked on the 3.75" Marvel Universe line. Before working at Hasbro he was a designer at Toy Biz. David has made a name for himself over the years among Marvel fans for being a passionate designer who brought a lot of great innovations to the Marvel toy lines." -TNI

Holy shit. That's great. He's the guy I remember being let go by Hasbro a few years ago which got everybody riled up. They even started a petition to bring him back.
Great news for the Mattel WWE line.

Hasbro has scaled back articulation and toy biz was known for their wrestling toy gimmicks. In fairness, he was probably not influential in any of those decisions so I'll watch with caution. I think mattel is doing well with the figure line. Maybe he can push for more play-sets and less tough talker mutant fart thingys:/

The mutant "farts" are just like one of the last lines of the WCW line from Toybiz. They had some stupid gimmick too. These do look better though. I wish Jeremy was headed for Mattel.

Mattel should use Vonner to update the DC figure line instead of messing with a perfect retail line as WWE .
Maybe female buck POA could be improved, but they're quite ok

This is great news as he was the creator of the best figure line ever in my opinion, The Marvel Universe 3.75 line.
This guy is passionate about what he does, we're in for a treat.

Padawer was more hands on but I shutter at the memory of RA styles figures...ugh. Agreed. RA is one of the absolute WORST figures ever made. They had some really good head scans, better than most of the Mattels. But the bodies were awful. Ill take a basic mattel over an RA figure any day

Yeah, and knowing this board, they'll run him off real quick by pissing and moaning about every little thing and openly questioning his ability to do his job correctly. All it will take is one bad choice in body parts.

So if Bill is the lead designer and this guy is the design manager, does that mean Bill has a new boss?
As long as he doesn't decide it should be a 3.75 line, cause if he does - I'm out.
I wish Jeremy was going in, Jeremy producted the greatest / most popular line of WWE figures in the Classic Superstars ever.
Toyfair is just around the corner - I'm still hoping and praying that either Hot Toys, Enterbay or Threezero announce a 1/6 WWE line. Or maybe even Storm Collectables expand to other legends - and then I will be one happy camper.

The WWE line is NOT perfect. Some of the scans are bad, scale issues, flesh tone being painted, there are issues in the design of these figures that need an overhaul. Hopefully they'll get that now

Hopefully they'll get that now Can you name a current major toy company that sells figures for 20-25 dollars today that makes near perfect figures? Just asking because I have yet to see any. We're talking about trying to simulate realism on a piece of plastic. I'll take a few dings here and there for what we get in the overall product. The more glaring issue I think has been the distribution which may or may not be out of mattels hands
