WIP Ring! 16x16

I posted some pics of this a couple years ago, but thought I would "dust" it off. For me, the ASR/ESR are just a little too big. Now it really sucks with all the ring skirts and accessories coming out for them, but I simply do not have the space to display it at the moment nor do I feel like I can drop that much money in to a ring... That being said, I felt like the Jakks Hardcore/Attitude rings were a definite ALMOST with the perfect size. Of course the spring style rings by Jakks and Mattel are almost laughably too small . I took a Jakks spring ring and quartered it + so I had four corners. You could do this with a Mattel superstar ring, however, one post will need to be modified due to the rope restraint built in. I cut a piece of ply wood for the canvas to 16x16. I believe it was 1/2 inch as it sunk down enough to be flush with the existing apron portions left. I used square dowel rods to "connect" or fill the gap between the apron pieces to even it all out. For extra support, I made a base out of a thinner piece of wood and used thicker dowels to connect the base to the mat and corners. I still need to get around to making actual aprons for it but draped a back shirt over it for now. Hope this inspires someone who shares the same thoughts on the ideal ring size! [Stuart?]
