I had liked wrestling for years before, but around the time I became a rabid fan Deisel/Kevin Nash was my #1 guy. And still is 444life

I started watching in 1983, so for me it was Andre, Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson, and my undisputed #1 was Snuka. And I became a Hulkamaniac when he came in late in 83.

GREAT topic.
I started watching in late 88.....Hogan, Savage, Warrior, Jake & Demolition topped the bill. As a 9 year old I was horrified when Savage turned on Hogan the February after.....LOL

The first Wrestler I remember liking was "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka. This was during his second run in the WWF so we know how that went. After that it was both Ultimate Warrior and Sting. I had absolutly no idea they were the Bladerunners in Mid South prior to their individual rise to greatness. Their career trajectory was on an almost crazy similar path when you consider they both had World Title runs in 1990.

I first started watching WWE (wwf) right before Hulkamania, and my favorites were Superfly Snuka and Superstar Billy Graham. This was when he had like a karate gimmick and dressed in black, if I remember correctly. Back then I thought Wwe was "fake", but other promotions were "real". Like I would see Dusty Rhodes fighting Satanic Kevin Sullivan in magazines and I thought that was real, lol. After hulkamania exploded, I got more chances to see other promotions, and my favorites were the Road Warriors. They were legit scary and I wanted to be like them lol.

Started watching it weekly without fail around August 2001, so the Invasion angle. My favourites at the time were: - The Rock - Kurt Angle - RVD - The Hardy Boyz - Brothers Of Destruction

Hard question because when I first started wrestling I hated heels, but now am realizing that without them, I would not have liked the matches that the faces put on.
case in point: Sting. HUGE fan of Sting. BUT if I didn't want to see Flair get pummeled in a great match with Sting, I probably wouldn't have cared for Sting too much. So while my favorite growing up was 90s Sting, in hindsight my other favorite was Ric Flair.

It's funny you put it that way, because one of the reasons I loved Macho Man so much was because I perceived Hogan as being this huge douche who didn't deserve to be so popular. So, I guess without Hogan's douchiness fueling my fury, I would not have been championing Macho's cause.

First got into Wrestling around mid-2000, just after Wrestlemania 16. So for a long time The Rock was The Man. Also loved Jericho, Benoit, Triple H and the Dudleys and Hardys.

Like with Daniel Bryan. I was never a big CM Punk fan, and I didn't like the fact that he was getting more recognition than Bryan when Bryan debuted. So I gravitated towards Bryan.

Shawn Michaels. Still my favorite of all time to this day. Same here. I remember being a kid getting his VHS of best matches or whatever and i used to do his pose all the time.

Bret Hart, Warrior and Hulk were the top guys in my eyes (even though we had Shawn, Taker and Rick Rude but they were the bad guys)
As a youngin I found I imitated Hacksaw Jim Duggan more then the other guys I mentioned. Grabbing any piece of wood and shouting, Hooooooo!
When ever my brother and sister pretended to be wrestlers we constantly did Demolitions double team move. All the time!

The Undertaker when I started watching regularly in 2005. Followed by Kane.
When I watched Attitude Era stuff, my favorites were still Kane and Undertaker.

LOL......this is a great thread.
Without great heels our guys would have been nothing really......without Savage, Flair, Perfect, Rude, Dibiase etc etc bouncing around like pinballs for Hogan, Warrior, Sting, Road Warriors, Dusty etc etc? man it would have been dry.

I always liked Demolition, they frightened me as a kid, they reminded me of executioners on their way to the ring in all that black attire, I was never a legion of doom fan - give me Demo any day of the week.
