I have a confession to make..... I never liked the Hasbro WWF figures. I thought they looked cartoony..... they were virtually impossible to pose...... very limited articulation..... and, as I was reminded when I tried create photographs for this post - many of them WILL NOT STAND ON THEIR OWN....... I bought a few of the Hasbros, but pretty much despised them & felt like they were an insult to those of us who wanted to collect figures. About ten years ago, my brother-in-law purchased a large box of the old WWF Hasbro figures for me at an auction, & as an adult collector - I enjoyed them a little bit more. But, I have to admit, like many others have posted - I felt like it was 1990 & I was walking into Hills Dept. store when I saw these guys on the pegs (even though it was 2016 & I was at Walmart in Wilmington, Delaware). Finally tracked this history-making figures down yesterday. I bought one of each to open.... and then an extra of Cena & Brock to keep in the package (because the packaging is just so cool)! Also, I have a rumor from a buddy who operates a toy store that the next wave of these things will be broken down by the following: WWE RETRO KANE 1x WWE RETRO MANKIND 1x WWE RETRO THE ROCK 2X WWE RETRO STING 1X WWE RETRO STONE COLD STEV..2X WWE RETRO TRIPLE H 1X Take it with a grain of salt, as I don't know this person very well - but that's what he's telling me. Now, on with the photos! Thanks for viewing! Happy Hunting! As a bonus, I had such a good time going through all the old Hasbros, I took some extra photos of some of the ones that I liked..... enjoy! Thanks for looking!

Awesome pics dude! I agree - I felt a sense of old school toy collecting when I picked these up. I hope Mattel realizes that they struck gold with this set and continues. It would be the perfect supplement to the basic/elite line and they wouldn't have to bother which gimmick lines because this targets and caters to both kids and collectors.

I assume you meant "Compared to Hasbro's" in your thread title, but great pic's nonetheless!

just look how wrestling attires have evolved.
The original Hasbros were cartoony sure, but the attires were so colourful back in the day when gimmicks were a "thing". Now look at the attire assortments - all black; Owens, Lesnar and Cena wear shorts - it's fascinating to see even in toy form. The next wave has Trips, Sting, Rock and Stone Cold and will mostly be all black as well.

Well I definitely like the list for series 2 better. Undertaker, Kane, and Mankind would be cool to put together.

I have to say mattel did a great job recreating a toy item from Hasbro. Hopefully there will be more series in the future if the sales are good enough.

That's a big IF! I hope they are, but will these appeal to non collectors of the original hasbros? I guess only time will tell.

I saw these at Walmart today. I was going to get Kevin Owens and then- if they were made- I'd likely have to buy other characters I like such as AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe and Finn Balor. But I decided to pass because I just don't care. I'm going to focus on Basics and Elites and very little else to do with wrestling figures and I think it still might be bad for the ol' bank account.

How good would that look displayed with a Hasbro Flair, Sid and the Steiner Brothers?

Great pics! Gotta give credit to mattel for an incredible job on these, they really look like they could be a part of the same line.
