I loved Jakks! But I don't have a hard time (at all) admitting that they sucked major balls when compared to Mattel. Even without the comparison, Jakks was objectively messing up on a consistent basis.

Paul Bearer must be at least 8 feet tall... either that or that's mini-Taker and mini-Kane in the package with him.

That Nash head is ten times better then all of the Nash head's mattel has put out. The hell? It looks like Jerry Lynn. You're telling me that Jakks Jerry Lynn/Kevin Nash looks better than RSC Exclusive Nash?

Jakks missed a lot of details and cut corners, but look at the amount of characters we got and different attires. They were good for what they were, and they laid the groundwork for what Mattel is giving us now. Side by side today, Mattel elites blow Jakks DA out of the water- but it was the same way with bone crunchers and Hasbro. I'm thankful for jakks and thankful for Mattel. Wrestling collectors don't go without.

For those arguing about JAKKS price point being cheaper, remember the new ROH figures are essentially JAKKS figures and they're the same price and some more expensive then Mattel figures....so inflation needs to be considered.

You're telling me that Jakks Jerry Lynn/Kevin Nash looks better than RSC Exclusive Nash? I've been saying that scan looks like Jerry Lynn for years. E16 is an amazing scan despite what everyone says. Elites started at $15.99. God I miss those days. By the end of Jakks the CS figures were like $12. Mattel had the bad fortune of starting in 2010. No one bought anything that year. Economy was horrible. I was 11, and I remember my parents always saying how far things had fallen since like 2003. If Mattel had the technology they have now in the 90's and the patience to put up with the Attitude Era product, they'd have made millions.

Ugh. I hate that skinny torso the most. I wish they would retire it and make something a little more substantial. That torso should do nice for James Ellsworth though.

I never had a jakks collection, but every time i see jakks figures, i see shit. That nash and hall looks awful. Goldberg looks like a knockoff or bad custom. Jakks sucked. Yall clowns cry about bad paint and loose joints. At least my outsiders dont look like a chinese knockoff.
I have 3 jakks figures now. 3. All are bad. I have a roaddogg that has a flat, hit with a shovel face. His tights say pd or them instead of rd. Poledogg jesse james? Police dog jesse james? Piledrivin jesse james?
My stephanie mcmahon looks like a spray tanned barbie. Laguna beach edition steph?
Jakks belts are awful. Oversized, colorless, with those terrible ends rather than the snap end mattel uses.

Jakks was amazing in the beginning. Sure, we goy weird body choices and scale issues existed, but fast forward ten years later and a company with a larger catalog of parts makes the same mistakes.
Both are/were great for their own time periods.
I like Mattel's attention to detail and accessories. I liked Jakks' ability to make literally ANYONE they wanted!

LOVED Classic superstars. so many different figs, 2-packs, 3-packs, exclusives. yeah a bit cartoonish, but I liked that for alot of the figs. and some of Mattels look like they need a meal or two. neither can be perfect. biggest plu with jakks was all the different wrestlers. heres some jakks made that mattel hasnt.:

I get the argument in this post, but I like other people see it as the past. Jakks was able to get away with these things because we had no other options, so when Mattel came along we had some recent stuff to compare to the crap Jakks was making. One things for sure and it's that I'll never understand why Jakks went from r3 which had some type of scale to ra's which was all over the place. I know some folks here say "oh kids don't care about scale etc." When I got my first RA Kane the first thing that popped up in my head was why was he the same height as Rey Mysterio, it was mindboggling. I do think Jakks have some better scans from time to time and for some reason they usually had some good paintjobs on hair (highlights, texture etc) but that's due to Mattel's poor hair paintjobs. Another things was that they USUALLY have us the iconic attires first besides waiting an eternity... Overall, imo Mattel is obviously much superior to Jakks. Atm I have a ton of Jakks figures I'm trying to sell because they're taking too much space too.
