He should have been Medium Size Josh at best. His billed height is 6'0" which means that in real life he was probably like 5'9" or 5'10". I never gave it much thought, but as Doink I always perceived him as one of the smaller wrestlers.
It's also interesting that no matter what gimmick he wrestled under, his finisher was sitting on people like a huge fat guy with a blimp-like ass. Did Matt Borne see himself as a 7'0" monster when he looked in the mirror?

It was just the gimmick name he was given - 'big Josh' sounds better and more marketable than simply: 'Josh'.

Yeah and it's not like they were stuck with 'Josh'. They could have gone with a completely different name.

I loved Big Jim and Josh as a kid. Also when they turned them into an elite special forces team. And I think Big Jim became part of a Pirates toy line also.

Maybe the first time I've ever heard anyone say that they loved Big Josh. Now I just need to find that person out there whose favorite wrestler was Sparky Plugg and I'll have completed my bucket list.

My cousin had them, and I was so damn jealous. He lived in Holland, and I could never find them in the States. www.plaidstallions.com/pack76/index.htmlwww.plaidstallions.com/mattel/e78.htmlI would have loved to merge these with my Super Joe Commander & Evel Knievel figures!

You know you've got a horsesh*t gimmick when you immediately jump at the chance to wrestle as a clown somewhere else.

I was always a fan of Matt Borne. Regardless of the gimmick. That being said, Big Josh as a gimmick was an awful idea. I always assumed Jim Heard saw a dude with a beard and ran from there.

I loved his heel Doink runs in WWF and ECW. His Big Josh gimmick not so much....
