The 40, 60 or 80 GB?
Ive looked around and cant find a real answer
Ive heard the the 40 GB version cant play PS2 games at all whereas the higher GB versions had trouble playing them
So if i am to buy a PS3 and have no use for net play, dvds, music, linking with PSP, if i just wanted to play the games and PS2 games whats my best option?

I didn't think any were. Might be wrong, but as far as I know, none are backwards compatible.

Like I said, I'm not sure. I know my friends won't play PS2 games, but I don't know what Gb system he got.

The 60GB will play PS2 games with no problems what so ever. The 80GB will play some PS2 games, but other games might have issues. The 60GB PS3 has the old PS2 hardward in it, so it runs PS2 games without any major issues. The 80B Ps3 emulates via software Ps2 games, so some games will run smoothly, but other games might have issues. The newly released 40Gb Ps3 has zero PS2 playback. Hope this helps.

That's true in America but not in Europe, the 60gb in europe also has to emulate via software so not every PS2 game will work but alot will.

I've got a 40GB, doubt I'll really need to play PS2 Games on it anyway, as I'll have all the updated versions of the game on the PS3 (e.g Pro Evo)...
The 40GB console is meant to be a matt effect too compared to the glossy styled 60GB, but mine's not Matt for some reason, which is good.
