No offence man, but they're all crap. Most no-name brands are made with bits and pieces where the lazer/motor burns out on them pretty easily. buying any of those is just gonna cost more in the long run. This is a little out of your budget, but: www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5336157/Trail/searchtext%3EDVD+PLAYER.htmnow, i found that after about 30 seconds looking, im sure you'd get a Philips much cheaper. i've had a Philips one for years and never had a problem with it. they're cheap cos they use crappy packaging, but the internal working parts are still pretty durable. Just an idea im throwing your way. |

But im just getting a £30 Philips one from Woolies, the one JLD recomended

yeah get a brand-name, no-name brands will just break
I'm sure most name-brands are fine, but I would say that I've got an Alba DVD108, a Sanyo DVD-7201, and a Sony DVP-NS300, and ONLY the Alba one plays every disc I try. Both the Sony and the Sanyo refuse to play some Region 1s, some DVD-R and some DVD+R discs
