I just purchased tickets to Monday night raw and this is the first wwe event I will have ever attended. And it's. live tv event which is awesome. How have some of your experiences been at raw or smackdown live? What is the merch booths like? Should I take a bunch of spending money?

I haven't been to an event in years but it's fun. They will have the top selling shirts and a few other. Just go and enjoy it. Mark out, boo, cheer, yell. It's really a cool thing to see and be part kf

I was at a UK 2005 Raw and to be truthful it was a great experience but what ruined it for me was the opening promo. It was the week after JR beat HHH and Batista repeatedly replayed the footage which kind off dragged.
However before Raw started they filmed Heat which was a pleasant surprised because I never knew at the time it was filmed before Raw.

The pre-show dullness is mostly gone, but the lack of interesting commercial activities sucks. They used to cut off air promos or hit comedy spots during matches, now there are a lot of Ads on the tron or just dead time. During matches you get a rest hold and then a bursts right before the show comes back. Merch wise RAW is better than most house shows but the prices are also higher. Food and drinks are also higher. RAW can either be the most exciting or the worst wrestling show you go to, rarely is it anything in between.

Although I haven't been in years, I remember it always just being a really thrilling experience. The atmosphere is just awesome, and unlike anything else I've ever experienced. The opening pyro is incredibly loud, but also awesome at the same time. As to be expected, merchandise is slightly overpriced, but not by too much. Attending live TV is definitely a better experience than house shows in my opinion.

I honestly thought this thread was questioning how RAW was actually live. Made me chuckle. I've been to RAW live once, back in 2011 when ADR was champ and was about to face Punk at Survivor Series in the upcoming weeks. Was good fun. I'm sure you'll have a good time! The merch booths at least at the show I went to were a bit meh. I already had my Punk shirt on so wasn't too bothered. Of course things could have changed in 5 years but the live event I went to recently doesn't really show that's the case.
Enjoy!

Don't buy a shirt unless it is one they will only be selling that night like a Brock Lesnar city shirt if you like those. And expect a lot of sitting around doing nothing because of commercial breaks. But other than that it is WWE and if you enjoy the shows every week you will have fun.

Its long...very long. Theres no commentary to listen to, and no DVR to skip all the filler. It is an experience though.

I guess it depends on the city and the crowd associated with it. Used to live in Louisville, KY and the crowd was always electric. Plus its where their development (OVW) was located so saw guys like Brock and Sheldon, Cena, Orton, Batista in dark matches prior to the show. Lawler was a local hero because CWA and USWA were at the Gardens every Tuesday and he always got the biggest pop of the night. Plus this was during the Attitude Era when the crowds were always hot. Now I live in Cincinnati, OH and the crowd here is horrible. Went to Raw a couple of months ago and was annoyed the whole time. Reigns v Rusev opened the show and Reigns was drowned with boos when he came out but the crowd quickly started cheering him. They only reacted to the main stars and not much else. They were completely silent during the cruiserweights until they decided to chant CM Punk and Harambe. US Bank Arena doesn't have pyro anymore because a couple of years ago they tested the pyro before Raw and started a fire at the arena.

Regardless it can be jarring if youve never been to a live show and are used to it on tv. When youre there live all you hear is the guy yelling behind you and the ring bouncing around. I dont think people realize how loud they amplify the ring.

Been to 2 Raws recently and one SmackDown, both were very enjoyable. The new stages look really cool in person, the pyro is awesome, it's a great experience.
Ran a lot smoother than the TNA tapings in Scotland that I went to in 2014 and 2015. There was a lot of awkward waiting around between every match on those, brutal.

The 1st thing you should do is head to the nearest merch stand to your section to see what's avalible, if you see something you like buy it because it'll most likely be gone afterwards.

Weird there was no announcing in house. Such a big part of TV experience, it was strange not having it live. Kinda wish we had left at 9:00 instead of close to 11:00, butI'm old

I've attended Raw in both Brooklyn and Glasgow and both were a great night. Was at the back of the Barclay's centre so was mostly watching the show, Glasgow on the other hand was where the crowd sang 'hey Bayley' for a good few minutes.

my only advice is to not take a bunch of spending money...wwe shop runs sales all the time online with up to 40% off. spend your money there and get twice as much merch.

Went to a Raw in 2006 and had a blast. I was dead surprised to find they filmed an episode of ECW that day too, and it was the night Bobby Lashley unexpectedly turned up and speared the Big Show and entered himself for the Extreme Elimination Chamber match, and Ric Flair and Roddy Piper won the tag team championships. It was great fun.
Not been since because tickets are so dear, but I had a great time when I went.
