The inability to eat is annoying but my recovery consisted of watching movies, the first season of Game of Thrones, and playing inFamous. I had a good time, quite frankly.
Also if you have the option I'd go with just getting freezing. It's cheaper (and to my understanding, faster).

I had all four of them pulled in the same day with only a novacane shot. I was at work the next day and had no problems at all. I'm a little different, I like the way the paib felt when they pulled them. When I also got cavities filled, I never take the novacane shot. I love the way the pain feels when it hits the nerve. ANYWAY, Just don't take any aspirin before you go. You'll bleed a lot.

You Know, not to bring the board down. But I still have the rest of my Wisdom Teeth, I'm feared of taking them out. There are also benefits of keeping Wisdom Teeth too, all my friends have done their Wisdom Teeth and they've survived, but I'm scared and nervous of taking them out, I've cleaned my teeth perfectly fine. But when I'm older. I will consider getting my Wisdom Teeth done.

Just like the posts in here, it can be a tolerable or intolerable experience. I was on break in my sophomore year of college when it was time for mine to be removed. I had them pulled on a Friday morning and they were impacted sideways, so if they did not get removed, they would have pushed my teeth together and into overlapping positions as they pushed forward.
I was out for the entire time. Counted back from 100 to 97 and was out. I woke what seemed like hours later, but I have the feeling it was not. I remember that I could only keep my eyes open about half way I could only see my Dad's lower legs and shoes as my eyes kept shutting. After getting home, I was not ready for anything to eat and went to bed. They woke me up for something at dinner time, but I was not ready. I took pain medication then and went back to bed until the next morning. I tried to eat something, but was in pain, so I took some more medication and went back to bed and was basically there until dinner that night. I was able to get something in me.
That night ended the first medication I was given. I was given a second type medication after sleeping through the night and having a little breakfast and started getting sick (throwing up) around 8 am. This went on about every half hour to an hour until about 3:30 after I had taken some ice chips it finally stopped. From then on I was okay. I missed school the next day, but was able to go back on Tuesday.
I blame the medication, not the event.
My mother told me that her sockets had become infected after she had hers pulled. She said it was as terrible a pain as she ever felt and it lasted days. I am glad I did not have to go through that on top of the sickness.

They fit perfectly, just enough room but there were portions just in the back that they couldn't get that had cavities and rather than fill it they want them out...which I guess makes enough sense to just get it over with. Your help has been amazing guys. T R W you look so bloody young there.

I should post my famous post-wisdom tooth removal picture that I shared on WF like a decade or so ago. edit here we are. Ah I was so young. this brought back some memories! I got all 4 pulled the same time back when I was 14. Got to have the next couple of days off from school, which was cool.

Soooooo....I finally bucked up and went to see the dentist after five or so years. I got the gory details that I have to have my wisdom teeth removed. I have to make an appointment with an oral surgeon at some point so they can knock me out and rip bone from my body. That being said, for those of you who have had yours removed, how bad was the aftermath? How much work did you have to miss? Stuff like that. I had a tooth pulled when I was like, 6, and that was just because it had a ton of cavities and the adult tooth was starting to push through so I barely remember. But I've heard good things and bad things about getting them pulled. What's your experience, and what was the aftermath for you? I had all 4 of mine taken out the same day back in April 2014. I missed probably about 5 or so days of school (I was 16 at the time). After your surgery you may want to go straight to a pharmacy to get your pain medication. I had pain so bad the first day that I reckon I started crying.

A few years ago I got all four out at once. It took a week or so to be able to eat normal. I just remember the day I got them out was kinda rough but after that it was relatively easy. Just listen to what they say.

I just ate ice cream the first day and then soup for a day or so. Folks their instructions to the letter afterwards and you should be good in a week. You don't want dry sockets.

I had mine taken out during a college spring break. They did all four at once, two of them had become impacted. I had very minimal pain, all in all. They gave me a Vicodin prescription, but I only ended up taking one because I hated how it made me feel. I opted for Ibuprofen instead and that did the trick.
The most important thing is making you sure you follow instructions post-op. I escaped unscathed, but I have friends who were lax in in their care a few days after the surgery and they wound up getting dry socket, which I'm told is far more painful than the extractions.

My Wisdom Teeth extraction experience years ago was ruined by the fact i needed jaw alignment surgery. Essentially they broke my jaw and repositioned it and then took my wisdom teeth out. I was swollen and in a bad way for around 2 weeks.

I had mine removed back in 2010 but I had 5 out because they found a fifth wisdom tooth, mine wasn't so bad I just took Panadol instead of the pills they gave me and I could eat normal food after a week
