This is obviously directed at those who don't collect too much of the modern superstars.
Anyways, my favorite years of wrestling were the 90s and early 2000s. Mattel has made just about everybody that I have ever wanted. Sure there are alternate attires here and there that I would like to see. But with Goldberg revealed, Angle on the horizon, Hogan rumored to be coming back (thus Hollywood), and in all likelihood the Hardys coming back, Mattel has made pretty much made everyone I have ever wanted.
Some of the names I never would have expected (Hall, Sting, Macho Man, again Goldberg). If I had to, I could probably come up a with few more "first time in the line" names (Val Venis and Scott Steiner come to mind) that I'd like, but they're not pertinent. The main list has basically been all checked off for me. And the only modern guys I really like are Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, AJ Styles, Luke Harper, and Roman Reigns... All of which I have one elite of and have no desire for any more.
Don't get me wrong. I have more than my fair share of criticisms for Mattel (I could go on for hours on that). But overall they've done a pretty good job I think. And I've noticed lately with the newer lineups, I only care for one or two figures at max (and the last few years, sometimes none), which honestly is a great feeling. For instance, I have absolutely no interest in Elite 52 or 53. And all I want from Elite 51 are alternate versions of figures I already have and am content with.
I guess what I'm getting at is, I've known for a few years now that I'm closer to the end than the beginning of my collection. But I'm actually starting to see a finish line here. Anyone else feel the same way?

I'll probably continue buying Wyatt/Balor/Macho figures but aside from those, I'm waiting for a decent M$M and Bret Hart that actually ing looks like Bret before I quit on a permanent basis. I don't have any reason to continue at this point. I'm going back to focusing mainly on horror figures. I find that even though they aren't released on a consistent basis, when Neca has been releasing them, they have been phenomenal rather than the statues they and Mezco used to produce.

NECA has been doing some great things. I love their retro line. And of course the ultimates. They focus way too much on Alien and Predator though. Although, I guess they have to because they're big moneymakers for them. I also hate the quarter scale figures they do. They look so ing good!!! But they're too big. They would be perfect at a 7 inch scale. But NECA can't get the licenses for them at that scale. Sucks. Anyways, that's a different discussion. Back to WWE, I'm fine with the DM and WM Brets. They look pretty good to me.

Yeah, I have pretty much little to no interest in Elite 49-52. Maybe 1 or 2 figures total. I'm mostly just interested in the eras of the mid/late 80's, through all of the 90's, up to and including the early 2000s. I have a few of the modern day guys that I like, such as: Seth Rollins, who is pretty much the only guy I really like from this current era, but that's about it. The current day guys just don't measure up to the guys from the past eras that I listed in terms of charisma, character, mic skills, cool looking attire, etc. So therefore, I have little to no interest in their figures. Even in my Detolfs, comparing my current day wrestler shelf to all the other eras/shelves, they're just so much less colorful and stickout alot less. They're just drab in comparison to the past eras figures. Kind of a bore. Just my opinion, though. But as long as they make the guys from the eras I'm interested in, I'll at least keep buying those as I am a fan of alternate attires, especially for wrestlers that I like and from eras that I'm a fan of.

I'm a 90s guy too. I''ll keep cherry picking all the new attires of my favorite 10 or so wrestlers. I don't get excited about any of the modern guys. Really wanted a Samoa Joe but that's about it.

I don't like 95% of the current WWE wrestlers. I mean, I enjoy a good wrestling match when they put one on, and I watch (more like fast forward constantly) all the WWE shows, but I'm not a fan of most of them.
And the wrestlers who I am a fan of are the ones with funny gimmicks or are just plain fun to see, regardless of wrestling ability.
For example, I like Neville because he straight-up looks like a freakin' goblin right now rofl
I think I'm gonna have to make customs because I don't see any elites coming soon for the wrestlers I mark out for.

With Ken Shamrock slated for Elite 52, I'm actually getting back in. I've recently purchased the NOD and as soon as I find McMahon I'll get him, too. DM Macho Man from WMIII is coming out. Gotta get him. This gives me hope for WMIII Steamboat as an Elite so I'll get him.
I was out. I'm back in it.

I'm thinking about flipping some of my older elites. Not intending to get out of it though, but figures or superstars I don't really care about, I question why I have figures of them.

I find myself only buying/wanting 2-3 figures from every Elite series these days... (I used to buy all of them). I still buy all the Flashbacks (and Basic Legends), but tend to only buy main-event types from the current roster - I just have no interest in having guys like Kalisto, The Ascension, Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin etc. (no matter how good the figures are). I still love collecting though - especially with guys like Dude Love, Goldberg and Kurt Angle coming up (and hopefully soon) Hogan and The Hardys... they've all been high on my wants-lists for AGES. Not to mention, things like the new DM Macho Man... it's a great time to be a collector!

I am going to continue through this contract of 2019 at least but really hope we as many first time in the line flashbacks mid carders in the next couple years because that will keep me buying more.

I started a year and a half ago after quitting when Jakks lost the licence so I don't think I'll be done until Mattel are (hopefully they renew for after 2019!). I just pick and choose Elites that are either of my past/current favourites or are just figures that I really like, and that'll keep me more than happy collecting until the end (and save a bit of money at the same time not buying every new release).

I've been collecting since LJN, I keep saying Mattel is my last go around. Well I'm hoping it is at least. But I won't be satisfied until we get almost a full roster fromy 85-87 and 93-94. Even then I'd think I'd still want more.

I'm like qdogg, I'll keep going until the end of this Mattel contract and then hopefully I'm still interested then if the contract is renewed. I collect 80's and 90's so there are still a few 80's wrestlers I need to make my collection complete like Sherri, Hercules and greg valentine and some others. First time in line figures are the ones that get me most excited though so when there are lots of rereleases and repaints it turns me off a little
