The only way I'll stop collecting figures is maybe if Mattel stops making them. Hopefully if WWE doesn't re-sign with Mattel, then the next company will make them in the same scale.

I feel you man. For me personally, I'm having some financial issues so I'm working on some selling my old elites but throughout this time I was realizing that I was collecting some figures for the sole purpose of just buying them, rather than having use for them. A lot of the wrestlers now don't really capture my attention, but also I feel like the attention to certain details and wrong body parts are driving me to collect less. In a way I'm glad I don't like a lot of the lineups or the guys I want aren't being made... Right now, it's saving me $$$ so I'm sticking to wcw guys and the very few attires I like on the modern guys.

If Mattel stopped making WWE figs today I would be fine with it with one exception. I really want at least 1 more Elite Surfer Sting. Otherwise I'm good. I'll keep collecting certain guys but in all honesty I don't need anymore of them except for Sting. I would be okay with another Elite Rick Rude as well. I'm a person who likes to know there is an end to it or a stopping point.

I'm still on board, there's still a few white whales out there I don't have (NWO Macho Man, E16 Diesel, RSC Edge) and some of the upcoming/rumored figures sound promising and I'm always up for surprises (Especially Shamrock and D-Lo and the winners of the WWE polls).
Considering I do collect modern guys too, I really don't see an end in sight.

Sadly yes. I don't want to be. But it's impossible to get new figures here (we haven't had anything new in months outside of a rogue E44 case at target that literally just got there), and Ringside has crept outside of my price range. There's Amazon, but they seem to be stuck a few sets behind as well right now, and I have bad luck with finding things when they're still in-stock there.

I'm not even close,I collect wrestlers from 1985-1990ish and with the frequency that those guys are released it'll be a long time till I have a full collection
There are major omissions such as the British Bulldogs, Harley Race, captain Lou, Jesse Ventura, Wendi richter, Mr Fuji, Hercules, one man gang, the dream team just to name a few.
Plus a load of repaints Id be interested in if guys like jake Roberts, Beefcake, hogan, macho man and especially Rick Rude. I don't feel like Mattel has nailed a Rick Rude figure yet, he needs his poofy hair!

THIS But in all seriousness I think I will start collecting just the legends and special figures. I am kinda burned out doing the whole figure hunting and I'm getting married and gonna have a kid so I am gonna have to start playing grown up. My job is nice though because I get to travel all day around the capital district which makes hunting easy but when you hit a bunch of different stores and come up with nothing you really grow to hate it. I work near a walmart and once I saw that display pop up with the basic AJs in it I started trolling hard and would go to the walmart twice a day and find nothing.

Financially, this sh*t is pretty expensive. And I'm starting to realize the lack of return on my end. If I still played with figures, it would be better, but still a tough sell. But given these things just sit on a shelf, I'm questioning it all. I've honestly gotten to the point where I'm considering to streamline and just display one bigger statue of my favorite wrestler and leaving it at that. Maybe I'll buy a few of those detolfs and just place one statue per shelf (one for WWE, one for horror stuff, so on and so forth).

Once i get the new dm savage, im done. Just bought my first figuarts and im hooked. So im switch my focusSorry to hijack the thread - but do you know if figuarts have the rights to make Hogan figures - and other wrestlers Mattel can't (eg. Owen, Chyna...)? Im sure they can, if they track down the rights to use. Theyve made bruce lee, freddy murcury and a few other one offs. I havent gotten any wwe ones yet, they look weird as hell. Kane looks cool though.

For a good 2 years or so I was in on it. Mostly modern superstars but a few new ones. Braun Strowman elite was the last figure I bought just lost the interest in it overall.

I understand where you're coming from, Mattel has done a really good job of releasing a who's who of wrestling. But I think they've still got plenty of names that can be made.
As long as Mattel is making them, I'm not finished collecting. But I think when Mattel looses the license, I may be done being as thorough of a collector. I'll probably still pick up Warriors, HBKs, and a random figure here and there of the next company, but won't try to build a big collection. (But then again...I said the same thing when Jakks was loosing the license to Mattel. )
But I don't see the next company improving the design of the figures much without the price going up even more. If the price increases, I definitely don't see myself collecting with the new company. (But then again...I said the same thing when Jakks was loosing the license to Mattel )

See, I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. I stopped for a little while but Mattel has been making a ton of figures I always wanted them to make. I mean they've been putting out figures I wanted when they started 7 years ago. It started with billy Gunn and road dogg. I never thought they'd they make those. Then we got them. They were my two biggest wants. Then we got the dudleys, godfather, Vince in wrestling attire, debut goldust, big bossman and the list goes on. I've been wanting these figures forever. Now with shamrock and dlo I'm fully sucked in. Their quality has gone down a ton especially their heads but I'm in.

I'm probably closer to the end than I'd like to be, I collect the NWA guys & certain ones from WCW. They've done a pretty decent job making some of the WCW wrestlers I wanted but when it comes to the NWA there doesn't seem to be much interest in showing those guys the love they deserve (except Magnum TA which is an excellent figure, & the Dusty Rhodes that came with the WCW ring) So, all in all the lack of figures from this era will be shutting down my collecting quicker than I want & it's unfortunate because there's soooo many of them that would make awesome flashback elites.

Double-edged sword for me. If Mattel stopped making them today, I'm out. I don't care if its a Flashback or a current guy, if its a good fig I'll buy it. No matter how many I get, or how long it takes, my collection will be what I consider complete if/when I acquire SES Punk. That is my "White Whale". But even if I got it, I'd still keep going.

I've been collecting since LJN, I keep saying Mattel is my last go around. Well I'm hoping it is at least. But I won't be satisfied until we get almost a full roster fromy 85-87 and 93-94. Even then I'd think I'd still want more. Same here. Probably never getting out.

Some days I tell myself that I'm closer to cutting down ... and then I buy two Nakamuras, one Vince and a Shield 3-pack, lol. I've cut back a little bit on modern characters, but I'll always be interested in Legends/characters I care about.
