I miss the days Of walking the aisles Seeing Jakks along the shelves
Cookie sheets And steel chairs Often crappily sculpted hair
Titan tron live, Ruthless Agression How I miss it Yes I do
The new Mattel Does me no well eBay is not the same
I know today There is no way To go back to those glory days
But atleast we have the memories...

I can say I miss Jakks in a way. The CS line was far better than Mattel's in the way of variety. And at least with the CS line, you knew there could be wrestlers from certain eras. Mattel is just throwing guys out now. Boogeyman, Tatanka, Berzerker? They don't make much sense to me.
I will never forget the WrestleMania 2000 boom. My TRU had an entire isle of nothing but WWF, WCW and ECW. Most were the WM2000 carded figures. Then about the last 20 or 25 racks were WCW/ECW. But man it was mind boggling. I remember snatching up the TTL Chyna, TTL Jericho and Chyna pack and the Debra-Austin set. Now the wrestling section in TRU is pitiful. Rows of the same crap and scarce at that. At least back then they had pegs and pegs of different guys n gals. Oh and I can't neglect the 10 pegs of Jacqueline and Dr. Death BCAs hahaha! I think they were finally marked down to $2.
I agree though. Those were the days. I looks back and think "man Jakks just wasn't up to par with Mattel." But then again the fun we had with those BCAs, TTLs and RAs were awesome!

The ode is great.
To me, Jakks is like my ex-girlfriends and Mattel is like my wife. You date Jakks, but you marry Mattel.

Man, the nostalgia....I remember vividly picking up an elimination chamber with Edge and Taker, along with a gold Rey Mysterio and a Classic Superstars Andre. Good times...good times indeed.

They were my childhood, being 20 years old I was 7 years old when RA figure started being made. I have so many memories and stories associated with them

I remember walking into a store and picking up some classic superstar figure who I didn't know because I was a lot younger and because they were so cheap I could afford to rather than now budgeting my money because they're like £20 per figure

Jakks are not without virtue. I still like them a whole lot. People act like it is a competition of who has the better figures. And they mostly do it with Jakks. I wonder how much time will have to pass before people accept Jakks as being classic toys and stop nitpicking them. Seriously, they don't do that very often with LJN or Hasbro or Remco or any other companies. All were stepping stones and so was Jakks. Some day some other company will take over and blow Mattel out of the water and I wonder if the Mattel guys are gonna turn on them too.
