WWE issued the following today:
John Cena will have the honor of inducting Kurt Angle – his very first opponent in WWE – into the WWE Hall of Fame during the 2017 Induction Ceremony on Friday, March 31, airing live on WWE Network.
Cena was a long way from becoming a 16-time World Champion on June 27, 2002 when he accepted the Olympic Gold Medalist’s open challenge, believing he had the “ruthless aggression” to defeat Angle before striking him. Though he did not earn the victory, Cena established himself as a force to be reckoned with in WWE.
Angle and Cena would remain rivals throughout the latter’s rise to Superstardom, even battling over the WWE Championship in 2005. Now, Cena will present Angle to the WWE Universe for the first time in more than a decade – and officially as a WWE Hall of Famer.
What will Cena have to say when he inducts one of his greatest rivals into sports-entertainment history? Find out during the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Friday, March 31 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, live on the award-winning WWE Network!

I can't wait till after Angle gets done his speech, and looks at Cena and says, "but there is one thing I am not done yet... and that is destroying John Cena."
Then all of a sudden... Samoa Joe, Booker T, Kevin Nash and Sting appear. And the Main Event Mafia strikes the WWE!!
Ha ha ha ahhh I am only kidding, but I would still mark out if that happened.

Meh, Angle is a bigger part of Cena's story than the other way around imo. I'm sure it's really cool for Cena to be up there as that guy returning the favor, so to speak, but I honestly thought guys like Austin or Shane were way better picks to induct Angle. So many guys/feuds come to mind when you say Kurt Angle's name, but Cena honestly just isn't one of them. Regardless, I'm thrilled for Kurt.

Brock would've been a better choice but I'm not surprised they went with Cena. Either way I'm happy to see Kurt get honored as he deserves this.

not surprising to see them make that move, but i feel it highlights cena more than angle.

Geeze. I know it'a because Brock can't talk, but he should have been the person inducting Kurt. Guerrero and Benoit would have been good choices too. So would Edge (in fact I thought it would be Edge).I was thinking even Austin or, as a dark horse candidate AJ Styles. Never considered Cena.

Now that I think of it, I would have thought Daniel Puder before Cena. I really don't remember any real stories between Cena and Angle.
Shawn Michaeals would be a better choice too.

Well, it can't be Chris Benoit, so it might as well be John Cena.

So stupid. Angle flat out said he wanted Austin, so naturally they go out and instead picked a guy who had literally zero impact on Kurt Angle's career. I mean, why doesn't Vince just have Roman induct him at this point?

Well, it can't be Chris Benoit, so it might as well be John Cena. Unless they get a DeLorean Time Machine to get Chris Benoit then that's not really feasable

If not Cena I would have wanted Vince to do it himself.

Cena isn't a totally surprising choice, but I thought it would be have been Austin, Shane, Jericho, Steph, Edge, or Brock.

Austin would have been gold, way funnier than Cena and they already have great chemistry.
