It happened during a house show I believe right before SSeries 97. In all honesty the cape was unnecessary so I'm glad it never made it to TV.

When he debuted he was supposed to wear a cape in his entrance. He wore it in some of the pictures from his debut photoshoot and at a few house shows in 97.

Apparently the cape was a fire risk when Kane did the pyro where the flames shot from the turnbuckles so it didn't pass health and safety.
I will say though he looked awesome wearing it.

He didn't need it. Made him look a bit cartoony like some kind of He-Man villain.

He didn't need it. Made him look a bit cartoony like some kind of He-Man villain. Meaning he didn't already?

It would have been cool to see the E12 Kane come with a cape
