So...who else is gaming this? I finished off the story last night. There have been a lot of complaints about the graphics, which weren't all that great, and the glitches (non opening doors/perfect puzzle solving still not working anyone?) but all in all, after putting roughly 80 hours into it I thoroughly enjoyed the story. As more people post, I'll discuss my thoughts on the story with more spoiler related detail.
I did enjoy that Ryder was less intense than Shepard, the series isn't quite as gritty, though the ending could prove that in the future it might get darker if we get another trilogy. The Remnant basically being a copy of the Protheans was kind of dull, but they made them unique enough to not irk me too bad.
The Kett make for good enemies, and I like the angarans. I was a little sad that we only got three species introduced compared to even the first ME game with humans, asari, Turian, Salarian, Hanar, Elcor, Volus, Reapers, Geth, Quarians, Rachni and Krogan but this was essentially a refresh for the series so I'll forgive it.
The Ryder family was retcon'd into the series nicely, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire squad minus Cora and Liam. Drack and Jaal were great, with Peebee stealing the show. I can't wait for DLC and future installments.

I'm currently in the middle of playing it, and I'm loving it too. I have to honestly say, if I didn't know about the facial animation problem before hand, I don't think it would have stood out to me, as much as it does. I mean I would have noticed it, but it wouldn't have been a big deal. I think I notice it more, because I knew about it going in. It was interesting the different direction with the Ryders, from playing Shepard. Even from the first game, Shepard, is already a battle hardened soldier, and in some respects, already a hero, not to the level they would become by the end of the trilogy. With the Ryders though, you have two characters that are pretty green in terms of their experiences as warriors, especially in comparison to Shepard. I love the little nods they did to stuff from the first three games. The one thing I had really any absolute hatred for was the mission Contagion. The story around the mission wasn't bad, but my god, getting to the payoff was so drawn out, I was actually cursing whoever came up with it. Without question Drack and Peebee were my two favorites for squad mates. I was hoping Drack would be able to hold a candle to Wrex and Grunt, and he did. And Peebee was hilarious. Loved how she was so much different in personality compared to how Asari are in the series. You didn't like Liam? I thought his loyalty mission was great, with the humor they had throughout it. Plus the way he was with Jaal was always humorous. I was annoyed a bit with Cora, especially with her loyalty mission, and her constant hero worship of the asari commando, can't remember her name.

Her name was Sarissa. In spoilers, what was your choice for Sarissa? I had her replaced with the tech engineer as Pathfinder. Drack reminded me SO much of Wrex it's not even funny. But that's not a bad thing, Wrex was the reason ME: 1 was worth playing. Contagion SUCKED SO MUCH ASS. Just on the Nexus alone I had to cheat on YouTube to find where she had went. Then the constant hopping? Yuck. If you hated that, you'll hate Peebee's loyalty mission. It's just as bad, even if you adore Peebee. Liam was a lame duck to me. Couldn't give a rats ass about him. He had moments where he was funny, like Vetra crapping on him for the couch; and Ryder getting so pissy with him on the loyalty mission...that was great because that's exactly how I felt about Liam. All that anger and frustration? Yep. But I didn't like Jacob or Kaiden from the previous games either, so maybe I just don't care for the male human squad mates you start out with. Jaal and ANYONE but Cora are hilarious together. Their banter is golden. When you're on a long drive in the Nomad with Peebee and Jaal, Peebee will start talking about something and Jaal will start fake snoring and she doesn't get the ing hint. Love it. The throwbacks to the original series were great. I love Ryder's office on the Nexus for that reason. Keep completing Ryder's Family Secrets fragments and unlocking the journal entries in the Ryder room. You want Easter Eggs? Mother of god, the ending of that mission is chalk full of them.

With Sarissa, I ended up leaving her as pathfinder, and keeping her secret. I was torn on it, but it was obvious she didn't want the pathfinder to die, but made a choice, during the heat of battle she thought was the right way. The only wrong thing she did was hiding how the first pathfinder died. How did you chose on the issue with Sloane Kelly ? I ended up saving her, but let Reyes get away. The fact that Reyes plays you, despite him being likable, was was did it for me. It was basically siding with Sloane, because it was a case of going with the evil you know, over the evil you don't. She might have been a pirate queen, but she was up front with you. Reyes, was playing you the whole time. I couldn't kill him though, because I did like him, in the missions with him. I really hate the Krogan leader Nakmor Morda. From the first meeting with her I've been wanting to kill her. Part of is, is that annoying freaking voice. Bugs me, how Drack is behind her rule.

Sloane reminded me of Jack, so I had to back her all the way. Regarding Morda, just you wait until the end of the game. I won't spoil the kind of choice you have to make, but you have a very important choice that clearly impacts the next game, and I chose Morda. Stay tuned, and let me know who you choose when you get to the end and tell me how much you love or hate my decision respectively. Her voice is whatever. Drack's granddaughter really caught me off guard with her voice in the beginning. I was thinking "Uhh...flamboyant male Krogan?" until she dropped that Kesh was a she. I forgot female Krogan existed.

From the moment I met Morda, I was honestly hoping you could take her out of power, but from what I've read, I guess you can't. For the other big decision, what did you do at the Exhaltation Facility?

I contemplated saving them, but then I realized the Paragon/Renegade system was gone and sided with the Moshae on blowing it to bits. I hate that you have no control over your partners abilities. I used to abuse the hell out of warp and overload. This time I could only use my concussion shot. Suuuuuucks. But I can't complain, I'm only missing the Fastball and Trip Mine achievements regarding abilities so it's whatever. Even got the floating biotic combos thanks to Peebee.

I like it. Yeah, you pick the choice of leaving the facility, and she gives the order to release all of the prisoners, then walks away and starts praising you for your decision. A prompt comes up and if you press it, you kill her. Shot her dead, right in the middle of her praising me. Made me happy, able to get prisoners out, but also get to punish the bitch running the place. Another character, until they reference to her as her, that I had no idea was a female.

Correct. You have to commit to Peebee/whoever first, that way you don't accidentally commit to the Angaran woman. But if you do it correctly, a fling with both will not affect your relationship. They keep it quiet.

Ok, that's good, I went with taking it slow for a full romance with PeeBee, and then started flirting with the Asari reporter.

Yeah, have to do the take it slow approach with Peebee or else you ruin a chance at a full relationship. It's basically the same deal as we had in ME: 2 with Jack, if you go to her right after the blowup with Miranda, or if you hold out.
