In your opinion, what do you think Undertakers best Wrestlemania match was? I believe his best Wrestlemania match was against CM Punk. While Punk should have been in the title picture, his match with Undertaker was the true main event of the show. Some criticize the build up, but looking back it was a lot better than most. Especially the last Raw before the show when Punk closed the show by dumping the ashes on Undertaker. It's that edginess that adds emotion to a storyline, it adds heat to the person who's supposed to be your heel character, it's something like that that truly generates a villain in a storyline which is something most of Undertakers Wrestlemania storylines generated. For awhile it was people stepping up to end the streak, Undertaker being in a title match, or someone wanting revenge i.e. Triple H's Mania 27 and 28 bouts. But CM Punk had a clear motive in the storyline to take something, not just be the guy who beat the Undertaker, but take everything the Undertaker stood for and that the fans loved. The match was full of emotion, the crowd was incredibly into the match from start to finish, The Undertaker put on a great show as well as CM Punk, and the whole atmosphere at night added to the entire match.

In my opinion vs Orton at wm 21. That match is so underrated. So much drama and it really looked like Orton would have broken the streak. The build for this match was awesome too.

I would have to say End of an Era inside Hell in a Cell with Shawn Michaels as Special Guest Referee when The Undertaker faced off against Triple H. The storyline, the build-up and the promos leading up to the match were perfect. Not to mention the emotions before, during and after the match especially when all 3 men walked off arm in arm signalling the end of an era I mean you couldn't have written that any better.

I'd say Flair at WM X8, it had great build and delivered. After AA got involved I thought Flair had it, but they couldn't finish Taker off (JR and The King have some great commentary going on in that match also). WrestleMania 18 is one of my favorite events of all time, so that might also be why I rank that match so high.

I'll go with 25, but all of them from 23-28 were truly great.

To the OP, did you create this thread because you think tomorrow will be Undertaker's last match? I have a feeling it will be. Tomorrow will be his 25th WM match. Not a bad way to end it.

25 and 26 are fantastic. 29 is brilliant too. But I think 25 is the best. It tells the best story. I mean, the first tombstone kickout. Look at the faces of the crowd sitting ringside. They look like the crowd did at WM30 when Taker lost. Genuinely shocked when HBK kicks out.

The loved the matches he had with Michaels and WM 29 with Punk was a really good one too. I honestly have to say though that the build up for his last few matches have been really terrible. They literally build up the matches like two weeks before the ppv without giving them the proper time for the theatrics, storylines etc. Undertaker shows up chooses his oppents then vanishes till wrestlemania eh.

To throw a different answer apart from the obvious 2 with HBK, End of an Era and CM Punk choices I went with his match vs Edge.
I remember thinking it was going to be a boring match but was surprised and happy by how much it delivered.
His match with Batista was also a good shout, but I preferred his chemistry with Edge more, and the promos leading up to it.

While Michaels vs Taker (25) is the obvious choice in terms of match quality, I've gotta give it to Punk vs Taker. Punk was on fire during that period having fantastic matches week in and week out (see Punk/Cena on Raw from early 2013) and while he should have been in the title picture, the feud with Taker was amazing. The whole inclusion of Paul Bearer's passing made for some great heel work which I'm sure Bill Moody would have greatly appreciated, being a focal point of a main event angle at WrestleMania. I felt like there was much more hype with that storyline than the one with Shawn. Shawn's was just 'I'm gonna end the streak' and that was the general idea of the storyline with a few sneak attacks here and there whereas Punk's was much more personal with the inclusion of Bearer and I enjoyed the match that much more because I was filled with anticipation to see how badly Taker was gonna kick Punk's ass. Plus, while I love Shawn, Punk and Taker are two of my all time favourites so ya know... I'm a little biased towards this match haha.

Undertaker vs Randy Orton is another Undertaker WrestleMania match that I really enjoyed
I remember as a 15 year old watching that match thinking that Orton would be the one to end the streak and given that Orton had his moniker of being The Legend Killer I literally thought that when Orton hit that RKO in mid air countering the Chokeslam in mid-air into an RKO...I thought that that would have been it but Taker kicked out
And then when Cowboy Bob Orton Randy's father interfered while the referee was out and Cowboy Bob hitting The Undertaker with the legendary cast putting Randy's body on top of Taker's and Taker kicking out of that I was even more shocked

Or another WrestleMania match of Taker that is really underrated is his first match with Kane at WrestleMania 14...now that match is another match that I know was enjoyable
Promos, storylines, build-up leading up to Taker/Kane was perfect; the sibling rivalry and not to mention Bearer being a factor as well and Kane being so much like Undertaker having supernatural powers too you thought that the streak was going to end

Now hear me out. I'm going to say Wrestlemania 14, because of the buildup. It was so amazing. The whole Paul Bearer taunting him with Kane is alive. Him having to come clean about the Funeral home fire and his brother, his brother showing up and costing him one of the penultimate matches of his career (The first Hell in a Cell with HBK) and his refusal to fight his brother until he finally put him in a casket and set fire to it, seemingly vanquishing Taker. Him coming back on Raw and telling him how he'd walk through the fires of hell to fight him. The match wasn't bad either. They beat the hell out of each other. And it took 3 tombstones to end Kane. Now it's not his best "In ring" performance at Mania, but all the storyline that went around it made it seem special.

HBShizzle #1. I have a soft spot for Taker/Edge, because it was a solid match but hell the story telling of his first match with Michaels was amazing.

HBK at 25. No contest.
Whilst we're around that subject though, HBK's best WM match was against Angle at 21.

Match perspective and quality it's definitely WM25.
What a story they told in that match...drama, selling and two bonafide legends at the top of their game, polar opposites in every way (darkness v light, big v small).
26 is a close second.
